My Site - Am I Making Enough?

I´m running a pretty popular website and I´m seriously wondering if I make enough money off it. I hope some of you can tell me...

The site is about gaming and one genre in particular. Traffic is not my concern, the site gets about 10.000 uniques daily now, with 5%-10% growth each month. Visitors are international with about 30% from the US.

Primarly, I´m using Valueclick and Adsense as filler. That brings about $300 each month and I´m not sure if that maxes out the sites potential.

Valueclick's CPM has plunged during the past weeks and it is somewhat frusterating to see the site attracting more and more visitors and still my revenue goes down.

Maybe Valueclick isn't the best way to go? I seriously have no idea....

You should be making more than that for that many daily uniques I think.

You might want to try looking into Adsdaq for CPM.

Uggh... I somewhat thought so. I guess Valueclick may be comfortable but not my best bid then.

Yeah, I was thinking you definitely should be making significantly more than that.

    Adsense is mainly about placement.

Have you tried improving the location of your ads?

Yes, I really just use Adsense as filler though because the ads for my nieche aren't really good at all.

Thanks for all the quick replies, I was always suspecting I was lacking with this stuff.

There's no such thing as "Enough Money" when it comes to websites. The more the better, no exceptions. Keep aiming for higher earnings at all times.

I agree with everyone that you should be making a lot more with 10K unique views a day...

Try advertising other affiliate products.. There are many products available in Gaming industry that you can promote .. Look into Amazon, CJ, Linkshare to find Physical products & promote them from your site.. And don't forget to experiment with ad placements...

    Regards,

I agree that you should make more money , but advertising heavily on your site , may result people dont come back to your site :) you have to do it very wisely , people like ad-free websites.

The best way to go is to have targeted ads on your site - you can charge a lot with your traffic levels. Adsense won't pay very much especially if the ads aren't very targeted.

That seems very low for 10k uniques. It could be due to ad placement, site content, or the actual site visitors themselves. What is the content of your site about?

get with a CPA network and find offers relating to your site's content then write articles promoting it with ads on the articles. You will easily make much more than that with 10k uniques/day if you pick the write products.

It depends on what type of site it is, but a site that is properly optimized and monetized should be making at least $10-$20 per 1,000 unique visitors. At 10k visitors per day you should be making a minimum of $100-$200 per day. (Like I say, though, it depends on what type of site it is.)

Have you tried out AdSense? How about affiliate programs? On a gaming site you might try using the Amazon or eBay affiliate programs and selling merchandise related to the game. You might also try selling any Clickbank guides that are related to the game, if there are any available.
