I would look to purchase an already exisiting website that is already profitable and making money. Go to various webmaster forums and to this forum and look for a site with traffic and that is already making money. Also outsourcing link building tasks and website building tasks is another fast way to see a profit.

Easy to make MORE money if you have money. There are hundreds of HYIPs or surf programs around where you can earn a fixed daily interest and which will double your money in just 30-40 days. It's high risk but high return so you have to do your due deligence and pick those programs that have a high chance of paying for months or years to come. There is a form of investment here in the UK known as "Gilts", which is where you buy £100 pound units and goes directly to the UK Government. Apparently, it is a safe secure way to make back a fair amount and is basically a small loan for the government to use. Durinf the World War 1, it was known as the "War Loan". Imagine that. "War. Invest now!" Things haven't changed much since really. Just bear in mind people, be careful about throwing your money around on the internet: you can't be sure of who you're dealing with. At least with the government you go through the proper channels and are guaranteed a return.
Government backed loans aren't guarenteed, for instance I'm still waiting for the prince of Nigeria to return the money I loaned him for freeing his frozen assets. I'm having serious second thoughts about investing in those Rebuild Iraq bonds I got an email about last week.
Investing in Iraq is a good idea I think, but don't go in too big because the risk is high. A good low-risk investment would be TIPS (US "Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities"). Recommended by Bill Gross of PIMCO and many others. They have been hit hard because of current deflationary pressures due to economic downturn, but will most likely rise in the coming years as central banks efforts to re-inflate begin to come through and as commodity shortages drive prices back up (this brings us back to Iraq - their oil will be worth a lot in the coming years).
