    Hi all,

I have a few sites with one host. They're not the greatest, they got some traffic from google from crappy keywords which they ranked good for. Now, all of my sites are no where in google for any of the keywords, I get no traffic at all on all of the sites from google. I've been trying to build links recently so i'm assuming google didn't like a couple of them maube..not sure. Do you believe google banned my host ip's? How do I get out of this rut? The site comes up in google when I type the url so maybe it's not banned..what do u think?

    Thanks

Here is a tidbit I found on the subject. I am not sure, but maybe this will shed some light.

"...if a shared ip address is the only common factor, other domains are not automatically banned or penalized. But if the domains are interlinked, or show some other relationship such as common backlinks or Whois information, then there can be trouble."

It's obvious that Google can't ban sites based on their IP.
That's because a lot of webmasters use shared hosing packages ;)

Thanks, none of the sites have any links pointing to one another...weird coincidence then, they all dropped off the planet of google in the same week.

If you are interlinking these sites, these must be on separate c class ip. Also whois information be changed to avoid penalty.

Google indexes BILLIONS of pages. Do you think they have the time to single out your already low traffic sites manually? Hardly.

Google is constantly changing the criteria used to value sites via AUTOMATIC software. You simply got caught up in a change. If your traffic model is based soley on Organic Search you should expect fluctuations. It's really that simple.

Thanks for the reply. Do we know the criteria google is adjusting? What changes is google making? I usually evaluate the google search results for sites on the first couple of pages and I see no fluctuation with them at all.

    Hi

I lost all of my traffic this week too. I thought it was something I did to upset Google. I added a shop from Amazon and put a few links on free link sites, which is nothing new as I do that a lot if I find one that I like.

It looks as though this is nothing new then losing the hits. I will just sit it out and see if they come back..... as long as it's before spring cos it's a gardening site and I would like people to buy stuff.......

    Cheers

    Ian

with shared hosting, there are 300-500 sites get hosted on a single server with one IP. so if google was banning IP address to prevent some spammer, then rest of the few hundred indivisual sites owner by others would get penalized as well which would not make any sense

I find it weird..google changes the criteria, but most if not all sites on the first couple of pages of google for terms never move for my niches. There is no way of us little guys finding out what's going on?

I would also like to know, does google ban domain name or put you in the so called "sandbox". If I can type the url of my domain and find it in google, is this a sign that nothing was touched to the domain from google or can it still be "sandboxed". This sandbox term, what is the accurate definition? Are you on a 10, 30 day, permanent penalty of some sort..are there way of getting out of the sandbox?

Start rebuilding your links from scratch on the keywords you are using in your site as well as do keyword research on your existing keywords.Have a competitor analysis on the keywords used.Hire an expert to get your work done in an effective manner.
