When to start link building for a new site

Discussion in 'Link Development' started by TranserNaga, Jan 14, 2009.

    Hi everyone.

I am working on a whole new site and I don't want the spiders to index it before I am finished and have the right link structure, descriptions and so on.

Therefore I have set it to noindex.

My question goes: Is it okay to start link building for the site even though itøs not totally finished and even though it has noindex?

    Cheers,

    Max.

I start building links when my site is fully finished. What's the point to rush?
There isn't much free time to work backlinks when you're working on the site anyway...

Personally I think it might still be a good idea to build some backlinks asap. This would give those backlinks some time to age and gain more weight.

That's absolutely true but what if Google notice that you change the homepage too often?
It depends on what stage is the site. Start building links right after registering a domain is probably not a good idea.
Blank page with "Work in progress" is not what you want any search engine to index.

Start building only when you are completely happy with the site and it is done

Start the sooner the better. It takes time. Even if the gbot crawls ur underconstruction index page who caares in a week or 2 it will be recached crawled and indexed with final homepage. At leaset pr juice was being passes this whole timme.

Once you've got the site designed, start building ASAP! It's amazing the results that you can get quickly.

If you're thinking in submitting your site to directories they don't usually accept unfinished sites.

You should start building the moment that it is up.

I would recommend you go ahead and start building links first. Google continually crawls sites so it doesn't really matter if your sites not ready. It will grab the most recent version the next day.

I think that is best thing to start the link building when your site is well designed or fully completed. But i have heard this first time that even unfinished sites can be used for link building.

I get my site up and running first with the basic looks. Then start on the link building and other changes.

start with some relevant content on the site, even if it is an under construction... set up a few sbm and it will get indexed quick.... but id lay off that, perhaps try a few blogs or PR and get them circulating... it can take a while before your even noticed but id def be building to something straight outa the gate... if ppl are talking about your site before its even hatched... that must b a great new site thats coming right?

    peace
