Whats the advantage of using blogs to promote your website?

He is the senario...I am thinking of setting up a blog using the keyword, now which is best for SEO and SERPs - Wordpress or blogspot?

For an example, I will use blogspot - I will use keyword like this keyword.blogspot.com then write an brief article with keywords that are anchor text to different pages on my website.

Tag it with all keywords, then submit the RSS feed to RSS directory.

Will it work? Give me your thoughts.

I think it will be a good strategy. Search engines like blogs because they are constantly updated. General opinion seems to be that wordpress is the one to go for.

Scissors, thanks for your imput, what I will do as a test, is do 1 for both different content, then I can update people if they want to know.

 

The Following are the advantages when you use blog:

* Blogs are content-rich and topic-focused

* Blogs can attract intensely loyal readership


Blogs is great for Visibility in Search Engines and For Inbound Links

 

but using a blog with URL under WP, e.g. yourblog.wordpress.org is almsot worthless. it can help you if you use your own site address: blog.yoursite.com

on its own a blog has little impact, you must combine it with extensive link building strategies (preferebly on sites located in your country or region).

 

I suggest you use both for blogging - and write about different topics.

I agreed...but even free hosting wordpress is useful when you use this for blog review and inbound links purpose...

Its not necessarily have to be wordpress.
If you have a domain, install wordpress to it. Then get original and copyscape passed articles. Submit these articles.

Also, build some dofollow backlinks for each page or the main page of your website.
Continue this work on a weekly or monthly basis and see an increase in SERP.

i agree with all the guys who suggested you with effective options.
Creating blogs is an effective way to get you ranking in search engines.
Blogspot and wordpress are some of the blog sites which have customized options for a blog.keyword oriented domain name for your blogs will be a good option to drive traffic.The way you are following is quite effective.
i would use wordpress as it has a handy customization tools.

i suggets wordpress is best option which can attach with the current website. i feel blog which ur creating will be regulary updated. one more thing you can do is have page it self in website which act as blog . other way of doing with blog spot would be like this http://www.roncastle.com/blog.html. which i don't think much effective

When you say blogs are loved by search engines because it's constantly updated will really depends on how you update them. A lot of folks are eager enough to create their blogs for the first time but abandon it after a while because they can't maintain it.

i once used this same strategy - a wordpress blog and a blogspot blog.I tried doing 2 way links and after 1 month both were slapped by G.But since you are saying one way links iam not sure about the outcome.But do not build backlinks only from that blog - use varied sources.thats very important !

Acc. to me the blogs are the best and in this case I would like to recommend Blogspot instead of wordpress although wordpress is having a simple customized toolbar.
