Hello, I read somewhere that back links in a different language are better (more juice) than regular links in your language (like English around here). I guess the idea is that a link is a bigger vote of confidence if it has to cross the language barrier. So my 2 questions are: 1/ can one seo guru confirm that? 2/ what happens to the anchor text; it is in a different language, does google translate it, or is it considered gibberish in the SE?
I´m no SEO guru but my logical thinking tells me that your text will stay in the different language and it may improve your SERP for this specific language. Now if they really count more? I personally don´t think so, i think its the quality of the domain. A .de domain for example has a high value so if you get your link in a german .de domain it will sure count more than a .info domain in viatnamese.
1 -- Not true at all. 2 -- The SE will neither translate it nor consider it gibberish, the SE will simply know that this is content in another language.
Thank You, I mean if you have 2 back links from same quality domains, one in English one in Spanish for example. Yes, but which is better if any?
I'm not a "SEO guru" but here is what I think: 1. Foreign language backlinks are not better. 2. Google doesn't translate the anchor text. The site will just rank higher for that foreign keyword.
zexy, you are not seo guru, so what are you? dont be so modest. Anyway ty all for the responses, I agree with zexy
This is not true if you go to google webmasters tool you will be able to see what google bot sees on your backlinks and it only make differences between keywords an do not translate that anchor text so if you place 2 backlinks, one with anchor text : ball, and another with the anchor text: bola, it will see them as different keywords and count them separately (here you can see wich anchor text is more relevant or more used on your site), what is true is that having backlinks from different ips could help your seo
what you see in google webmaster is far from what the google engine does. and this we do not know. 1/ it is clear that google engine uses translation routines, because google is based on the English language, but they can handle any tongue. 2/ So it is not difficult for them to integrate a layer of translation, where an anchor text originating from a different tongue would be translated. 3/ If this is not done, it will be done.
