Stupid adsense question

Hi, I have a stupid question (or so i think)

When I display adsense ads on my site, most of them click through to a google search instead of a site.

Is there any way to change this so I am advertising websites instead of google searches, or is this just google not being able to find a relevant ad?

if so,, is there any way to turn this off?

    thanks!

You must be selecting a link unit, which when click take you to a page of links.

You need to use an ad unit, which displays actualy ads and not links to an ad page

you are getting click thru your link ads so when someone clicks on link ads they go to google search like features and when someone clicks on that sites displayed in google search you get paid.. don't worry about it.. you have your content ads on articles but you can also add a content ads on homepage so you get more clicks.

Google has Link Units AND Ad Units ...
if it takes 2 clicks to get the a website then your using Link Units and if you want them to go directly to a site instead change your Link Units to Ad Units ;)

Yes, I have that part :)

what I'm wondering if there can be AD UNITS that are text ads, or are they always the bigger ones?

Ie can i have a 15x768 (or whatever it is) AD UNIT, or are those always LINK UNITS?

    thanks!

    Ad Formats are here
    https://www.google.com/adsense/static/en_US/AdFormats.html

There are no AD Units that are 15x768

You can also block any advertisements you dont want shown in adsense control panel.
