Has anyone here used the Rich Jerk "success team" mentoring program? They called me a while ago and are going to call me back tomorrow morning. They apparently charge pretty big money for this service ($2-5k), and I have a feeling it isn't worth it. I don't need some guy sitting there telling me how to use adsense, sell stuff on ebay, etc. So I wonder what these guys could possibly tell/teach me that is worth that kind of money? I was hoping someone here had been through this program to know if it is a scam or not. Personally I liked the Rich Jerk's ebook because it helped motivate me. (that link goes to my review). I already know what is missing from my sites.. TRAFFIC. I have a feeling this team of people isn't going to be able to tell me anything revolutionary.
Was the guy that called you a student of the program? I know nothing about the Rich Jerk Success team. But I know something about nearly every mentoring program out there, and that's that the first thing they'll teach you to do is to be able to recruit people into the Rick Jerk Success team. Maybe even with some awful 2-up payplan (the first two sales you make get attributed to the guy recruiting you). Anyways, I don't know the Rich Jerk's plan, so I could well be wrong.
I don't think this one works that way.. but I don't know for sure. Maybe I'll ask when they call me tomorrow.
Ok I found out some more info. It looks like the rich jerk actually uses these guys: http://ecapitaltraining.com/index.htm And they specialize in ebay.. which goes along with what I read in this thread: http://www.talkgold.com/forum/showthread.php?t=87134 The "success" stories on ecapitaltraining.com are very unimpressive.
I honestly can't see what would be worth $2-5k relating to internet marketing mentoring. Even if it was from someone reputable (ebay, google, yahoo, microsoft), I don't know what they could tell you which isn't free and easily found (unlike most free things, the internet isn't clogged too much with internet marketing stuff). I could be wrong, and I'm interested as to what exactly they do give you for your money, but my guess is that it's aimed at people who don't know these forums exist and are probably new to the internet.
I think you hit the nail on the head right there. Their site lists requirements like "must know how to use a computer / internet" etc. It seems like a "we'll teach clueless people how to start an ebay store" course and I have no interest in that otherwise I'd be doing it already.
Yeah, they called me. I think the guy was just some phone center kid. i didn't get the impression he was making more than ten bucks an hour for interviewing me.
The only one's getting rich off the the Rich Jerk Scam are the Jerks selling the books to the real jerks! The get rich quick business is a great one and it is always the seller that gets rich quick, not those who buy the products!
Just finished my phone call with them. They said they usually teach people how to make their own information product and sell it OR how to sell on ebay. The guy I talked to did have a site of his own but he didn't say how much he's making with it (I didn't ask). He did seem to have a fairly decent grasp on SEO, but I doubt he would've been any use to me as a mentor. After talking to the guy for a while he basically said he didn't think this service (which they call an investment) was right for me because I already know what they're trying to teach and what I'd get out of it would not be worth the price. Honestly I'm surprised he didn't try to sell me anyway.
I got replies from the 2 people on the Rich Jerk private forum that I PMed when I started this thread and they both said they wish they hadn't done the private coaching thing. So far I haven't seen one person that liked it and/or thought it was worth the money. Maybe when this thread is #3 or 4 on Google for "Rich Jerk Success Team" people will see it (if they're smart enough to do research) and save themselves thousands of dollars!
The bottom line is that you can hire a prooved adsense specialist with this ammount of money and maximize your earnings through your sites. Anyway there is no class that worths so much money, as all the information is available for free. You just have to "seek and you shall find" (as Jesus said before 2 thousand years )
There are still a lot of people on the rich jerk forum trying to find out if the Rich Jerk Success Team is worth the money, and how much it costs. I don't need to pay someone $2000-5000 for someone to teach me how to use drop shippers and sell on ebay. That's absurd. The next lame part is that the RJ wants to use these people as success stories for his rich jerk program, despite it not having anything to do with their success (if they have any at all).
"Rich Jerk Success Team" What a joke. The weird thing is, you would think people can only get scammed with this get rich crap once in their life(I had my turn). So, figure 100m people have been sold some type of get rich quick scam before, how are they still selling these "programs"? Shouldn't they be running out of victims by now? I really don't get it. Instead of the government outlawing things like online poker, they should outlaw scams like MLM and "Rich Jerk Success Team". P.S. I hope this makes Google top 10 for "Rich Jerk Success Team" so all the poor souls don't get ripped off for however much this crap costs.
My review of the experience is already #1 on Google.. but that's ok. This is partially why I replied to this thread (which I started) so that I could stick the keyphrase rich jerk success team into it more
Wow. I learned how to make and sell my own information product in High School back in the late 80's. It's amazing what you can learn by reading books/magazines and watching infomercials. Actually, that's why I'm here today. It all started with selling information via direct mail. You can send me $5k and I will send you a thank you note and a beer--Training complete.
ebay, adsense, and everything else is all about trial and error. if you have fun experimenting by making more money online you'll figure it out. Of course it doesn't hurt to research all the free tips and tricks online. -b
I just saw the Rich Jerk tv commercial for the first time! Too funny. Really would suck you in if you wanted to try and make a quick buck. Its pretty slick, actually. What's great is that they never tell you anything about the product, but keep showing how much money he makes.
It's like all these guys graduated from the Don Lupree school of making an infomercial. (btw, Don was all over the place in the early 90s)
