http://www.cooltunnel.com Its just a few weeks old and I changed the layout a couple of times as well as changed the script once. I have adsense in the index page but do not have it in the framed page(when you actually start browsing the proxied pages) because its against google TOS. With regards to design and layout are the adsense boxes too "in your face" or can they be excused, can they possibly even be GOOD by getting more clicks? Also any suggestions on what kind of ads to put in the proxied framed pages? I was thinking some affiliate banners might work once I get my hands on a perl/cgi based ads rotation script. I assume I need a perl script unless something like phpadsnew can be launched from within a cgi/perl doc?
It have some problems: try this link: http://www.cooltunnel.com/cgi-bin/nph-cooltunnel.cgi/000110A/http/www.singlepagemarketing.com/
Ok I tried the link and it worked. Except the header was centered and the rest of the proxied page was aligned to the left. Is that the problem you had?
It wont work on a shared host very well, if you have a shared host you could use phproxy 0.4 which takes a lot less resources. You just copy the files to a domain's root directory and its installed. Then you can pretty up the index.html.
Wow this is disturbing I just noticed your post. I got a popup that said something like: CGIProxy Error: Can't parse URL <http://forums.digitalpoint...blah blah>; not setting all variables correctly. And then the www.singlepagemarketing.com site did show up but a number of popups from Firefox with that error message also showed up. Whats odd is that they mention sitepoint which is a referrer not a destination. Thanks, I will look into it. Maybe I need to change some settings in the script.
so how do i resolve that error? could some one help. I'm getting this most of the time. i have an iFrame on the page that loads the CGIProxy script, causing this error to occur.. any way to solve this problem? i need the iframe to be there to load proxy... thx
Which error is this? Can you specify what the error is you get and which version of cgiproxy you are using?
