OK i have been told by some friends that best link building stratgy is to search the backlinks of best blogs in your niche (the ones that receive good traffic) and see where they have backlinks from and try to have backlinks from same sites. Is that good stratgy? and how can i find all backlinks of a blog (tried google but it shows a few links)
not sure if you are talking about posting url on blog comment. if it is then most blogs does no follow linking. try some real way for backlink.
Try using Yahoo to check backlinks. It will show many more results and it sorts them in order of importance (to yahoo anyway). Or there is seo software such as seo elite that will allow you to see even more of their backlinks. It is a good strategy to check the backlinks of your competitors. You can find some very valuable links that way. Of course it is a limited strategy as you likely won't pass your competition just by trying to copy them. You need to go above and beyond what they have done.
Thanks for replys guys jediskywalker i meant checking backlinks of popular blogs of ur niche and try to have backlinks from same sources as they are having
Good post. Of course OP's strategy is a good idea. I wouldn't spent for ever on it, it's all just common sense really isnt it.
I use this strategy only when I run out of linkbuilding ideas. Most of the times I manage to rank decently without spying my competitors excessively.
im not sure .. but so far i have ignore nofollow and dofollow.. cause i know noffolow means google bussiness...
hmm so what is best strategy in you idea? is that mix backlinks ? or more links from articles submissions, directory submissions, forum sigs etc
It would be good if your brand new site remains unnoticed by the competition at the beginning. Building links from the same place where they build links will bring too much attention.
I second using Yahoo site explorer to find link backs, more reliable. For me, instead of worrying about the competition, I spend my time getting links from related sites/pages, and out-do the competition
