Yes, you can use AOL to do that. But you can also spoof your IP.

PayPal also commonly freezes an account when there is a large influx of money (even if the transaction(s) are completely legitimate)

If you get a lot of fraud on the account Paypal will lock your account and seize the funds from your US bank account. To protect yourself make sure when you do get money transfer it directly to a second bank account where Paypal can't touch it.

The easiest way to avoid fraud is common sense (if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is). Make sure to check the buyer/sellers rep!

yeah... a buyer or seller's rep really helps to make the transaction less troublesome.

If you are from a country not supported by Paypal, it makes sense to use 2checkout.com, rather than paypal. They allow international customers and send payments via Wiretransfer. You loose around 10%, but it is far more safer for international merchants!

You can pay via a wire transfer, but I know that the rates for sending through that method are normally extremely high.

I have to disagree with that statement, PayPal helps many online businesses. Personally, I don't think there is any other tool on the internet that would be as effective in helping me collect payments as PayPal. I'm not saying that PayPal is flawless, but it is the most popular and widespread online payment service.

I would just recommend holding all funds & payments for 30 days. Its paypals prerogative not to let people use stolen credit cards, although its going to hit you in the end if they chargeback. If you only trade between paypal accounts then the same applies (although paypal usually freezes the person who does that chargeback if they have an account - they only accept payment reversals if it's done through their system).

If you feel you are at a high risk from chargebacks then I wouldent use them, otherwise they are pretty secure against fraud. I would just refund any cases of fraud that are put against you. It might be a pain to wait 30 days but if you want to keep your account, its a small price to pay.

You should be fine on a normal account for a good amount of time, after about $8,000 in received funds you'll need to upgrade to a business account (they need details for a "company" but they dont check this)

As long as you can find a legal way to use it, PayPal is the best service to protect both the buyer and seller (and also the most widely used).

Well that is true but I wish that people will come up with a way where there can be no fraud sort of like an you go to a store deposit funds and use them online sort of way.....or like an instant virtual cc that is like an account(payment) and both of those ways would not involve bank accounts.

My final opinion about paypal is that it WILL SEIZE large amounts of money FOR NO REASON WHAT SO EVER.

Infact my friend have been victims of this and IT IS NOT JUST PAYPAL.

Also services such as e-gold(I have experienced this and have the email) and some others are not "bulletproof" for you and YOUR money and in some ways the payment system is a "parasite".

I think that UNLESS you pay BIG fees you money ISN'T SAFE.
