This is a question for UK webmasters: do you find that links from .co.uk or .org.uk sites are a lot more expensive that .coms? And do you really think the benefits gained from .co.uk links are that much greater than links from other TLDs? What about .com sites that are hosted in the UK and are clearly aimed at a UK market, do you think good rankings in UK Google are a good indication? Thanks
I don't think there are really that many benefits (if any) over any other TLD. What I do have to say is that the price could be more expensive or cheaper, depending on both of your bargaining skills. If the seller treats it like there is a benefit and .co.uk are more rare than .com then move on to someone who doesn't see a difference between the two.
It is depends on the geographically targeted visitors. UK market mainly goes for UK customers. .co.uk is more targeted domain compared to .com for this. Dot com domains is not more for US only. Most of the domain is in dot com. Personally, I think dot co dot uk will need more deep search in link building and it costs.
So even though I have a .co.uk site and am trying to rank in google.co.uk you don't think a backlink from another .co.uk site will be seen as more relevant than one from a .com site?
