    Hi all,

My company is looking to hire another SEO as i am leaving for pastures new. They have asked me to put together a list of attributes they think would make a good SEO, in terms of personalality / background etc.

Bearing in mind they will probably hire someone without much SEO knowledge:

So far i have come up with the following:

    - A keen interest in the Internet and the web in general (not just using it for facebook etc). Someone who uses Google on a regular basis and understands the basics of how a search engine works.

    - Someone who is able to write articles and copy on multiple topics that is geared towards a certain theme.

    - Someone that doesn’t mind doing some repetitive work at times.

    - Someone with the ability to add their own ideas to a project and use their initiative to come up with a solution.

    - Someone who is continually looking to improve their knowledge of search and pass this knowledge on to their customers sites.

    - Someone who is happy using Google Analytics, or has the ability to run through data and interpret what it means.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Scott

    hi there,

There are many online companies who take up projects for online marketing and SEO. You can search it out on Google. Please PM if you need some cheap services and with good work. I think you can also do it yourself by hiring 1-2 SEO professionals at your company. This may also cut many of your expenses and you would direct it in the way you want.

Anyways that you have to decide keeping the priorities in your mind.

    Regards

It's a difficult question, but ideally you want someone with a bit of imagination that can come up with traffic generation ideas no-one has thought of.

    SEO has two factors : 1) On-Page 2) Off-Page
    1) On page : A site must be designed according to SEO perspective. If you have a product in mind, use some of the keywords and have a keyword research done on those keywords, this will give you a clear picture of the keywords in competition etc.A competitor analysis is also a good option to perform. The titles, description, meta tags will follow the above steps.Though they are lots more to be done.
    2) off-Page : Build as many quality back links as you can using high PR sites.Submission to high PR sites will give you more back links.
    Directory Submission
    Social media
    Articles
    Press Releases
Apart for using the above methods you should have competitor analysis as i stated above to be done on regular basis to gain the full results.
