I wonder if members of DP believe in the unlimited web hosting offers in regards of space and bandwidth?
Some DP members still believe in Unlimited hosting. They believe that they have the liberty to upload anything in their webspace and the hosting account can handle any kind of big traffic; but it is false. Unfortunately they understand very lately that there is nothing like unlimited hosting when their CHEAP OVERSELLING HOSTS suspends their hosting account.
There is nothing UNLIMITED in this world, They just make the money by offering cheap plans and after that they just run away.
Unlimited is just a marketing trick, but the customers should write their opinions, those who own a website with 50 UV being happy with their unlimited host but using 3GB bandwidth / month.
There is nothing called unlimited when it comes to web hosting. I learned this when I bought many such tempting packages from different companies. After a while, either these companies either banned me when I exceeded a perticular amount of bandwidth or space or they simply dissappered with all the money they made in these few days. So, never believe in such offers and there is nothing called unlimited. Even unmetered offers are fake in most of the cases.
The thought behind unlimited is that some members will use a lot but most members will use very little. Of course, there is no such thing as unlimited and many time these is little fine print in the terms of use that allow for suspending accounts that use too much. You are much better getting personal recommendation from people you know or trust for your hosting needs. If it sounds too good to be true, it is.
NO..there is nothing as unlimited webspace or bandwidth..people offering these kinda hosting are either SCAMMERS or they don't know what their talking about..
Everyone is correct unlimited is just a marketing scam. They may call it unlimited but if you transfer over 100gb you get disconnected. Clearly that is not unlimited in the least bit. No true hosting company can offer unlimited hosting because we are still limited by space/transit. Even if a company has sans solutions how in the world could they provide a $5 account with unlimited access to that network storage. Dont fall into the same old scam plenty of people do. Just keep in mind no matter what anyone tells you without a doubt you get what you pay for. If you take a cheap way then support or transfer will suffer for it.
Unlimited hosting is true for people that don't upload a lot or have big traffic. If it spikes, They'll learn really quick that it's pixie dust.

there is no such thing as unlimited hosting. the way this works is that they charge cheap for these plans, get loads of customers and keep on adding storage to their network - thus 'UNLIMITED' hosting.
Unlimited hosting is a farse. If you pose the risk of costing the company with your traffic or storage you will quickly find out there is a limit. There are fixed costs associated with hard drives and bandwidth. Its a marketing ploy and nothing more. 90% of the customers are probably profitable and the other 10% will eventually be forced into a different solution that makes the company money. Unmetered on the other hand is a valid offer and certainly able to be profitable for the host.
Actually there is nothing unlimited! They dont limit you on Space/Bandwidth but they limit you on what you often do to reach high space/bandwidth: File storage/file hosting/file leeching/Proxys/... Moreover, to reach "Unlimited" space/bandwidth, they need to have unlimited CPUs to serve your scripts/applications. Actually, they often have 2-8 CPUs and they will limit CPU usage for each account is 2 or 8 devided by an unlimited number. Now you know the results how much CPU usage you can use . I even did not mention to memory usage....
Even the Universe has limits. There is not now, nor will there ever be "unlimited" anything. Even those that tout "unlimited" have "limits" listed in their TOS. In terms of domains, emails, etc., listed as "unlimited", these are valid assertions most time. While there is no hard limit on something like that, the only non-host imposed limits are related to running out of resources. However, in terms of bandwidth, space, etc., its all marketing fluff and BS.
Nothing unlimited in the world. There are many peoples want to have unlimited for everything. It is impossible. Don't waste your time and money. There are many hosting plan that offers in dp dissapointed me. If you need nice web hosting performances buy it from professional web hosting provider, not in dp web hosting forum
Not all hosting company's that offer unlimited are scammers. Buyers should be aware of what they are buying when they buy inlimited hosting accounts.As most clients think great i have an unlimited account i can upload allsorts of stuff and full up the server,That will only get them suspended by the hosting company. I sell (UNMETERED) Hosting plans,But i only allow files that are needed for each website so my clients can not upload allsorts of crap. Our clients can have as manny sites as they want on there unmetered accounts and they can have as manny files as they want on there accounts but the files must be in relation to the running of each website.
Unfortunately advertising and selling of "Unlimited" or "Unmetered" Shared Hosting is cheating to new potential webmasters who have little knowledge about CPU and other resource usages. The new webmasters look for liberty but found only cheating. Everything is advertised as "Unlimited" or "Unmetered" but the "limits" are hidden in the so called "TOS". BEWARE of CHEAP "Unlimited" or "Unmetered" SCAMMERS.
