Your paypal balance will become negative and if u do not bring it into positive then paypal may hold some of your transactions to recover the funds.

I wouldn't keep more then $1000 in my Paypal account. Although you can Earn Interest on Your PayPal Balance

Here’s a quick money earning tip… If you’re carrying a balance in your PayPal account, make sure that you’re earning interest… While PayPal offers a ‘Money Market’ account that’s currently paying 4.98%, the default setting is for you to earn no interest whatsoever. While I wouldn’t use this as a substitute for a bank account due to the lack of FDIC insurance, as well as PayPal’s reputation for freezing accounts first and asking questions later whenever a dispute arises, there’s no reason not to earn a bit of interest on whatever you have lying around in your account. Login to PayPal, and poke around for info on how to upgrade your account.

How a paypal account can be hacked, if someone has used your password and transferred the money then you can raise a dispute.
On the other hand, you can recover password using your email ID.
Cn u pls explain, how it happened so that others can become aware.

It is safe to limit the paypal balance to just double digits unless you buy things online very frequently.

Paypal has its limits but that would be on what time out acc you have, I have left a ......small amount in paypal for weeks, months, if are not to sure about it and bearing in mind paypal is pretty much an online bank, but if you dont feel comfortable keeping your cheese in there you can always register you debit card or cc then the money can stay where you have it until needed and it doesn't take 3 days to wire.

Hope any of that was useful

Paypal can be considered quite safe. But the best place to keep your money secured is still your own local banks. So, as soon as you have some funds in your paypal, it's better recommended that you transfer it to your local bank account...! :)

Tendulkar2, I like that guy on your avatar.. He's an adventurous guy isnt he..? I forgot what his name was.. Well, at least its much safer to keep your fund in paypal than risking your life travelling alone in the jungle like that guy... ;)
