50 Websites with SAME layout --- is that ok???

I am going to be making about 50 websites with the same exact layout..... however the words will be different in each....

They are basically real estate related for different cities........

The title tags will be different, the words will be different......... there will be one "Inquiry" form on all sites that will be exactly the same....

Does anyone have experience in this???

Ill try to put as many as possible on different servers.......

But if theyre all on the same server..... will Google penalize me for having 50+ sites similar layout (but different content)??

You won't be penalized. Think about wp themes and how many bloggers use the same theme!

Google only looks at the content, not the template code.

Dcristo was right.. It won't penalized your website... The only thing that google will give you penalty if you have duplicate contents..

The thing is, some of the content will be similar.... this "Inquiry Form" that will take up 1/4 of the page...... anyone thing that will be a problem, if its on all 50 sites?

i suggest u don't use the same one unless you have your own protected theme. or use subdomain which is a lot better for SEO.

google actually looks at the template codes as well.

read these two articles, you will get the bigger picture, I am not sure I can put the link to sites here though, but I think that's helpful to decide.

Of course it looks at the template code, what I mean is it's not a SEO consideration.

No problem!!! The only disadvantage is that most of the link builders will know that all of them are your site and hosted in same server. If you hosted in different server, this problem will be solved...

Absolutely, It is not a consideration for SEO, but if you use same free templates and theme provided and if your code is conflicted with some warez sites, hardcore adult sites and etc, the bot will flag the sites and report it back especially AdSense publishers site.

AVG also now runs every single page to track malicious codes and standard codes that do not seem secure as well. Probably that's why XP has just updated new tool yesterday to keep track for IE coz nowadays, FF and chrome can easily detect those unsafe sites.

My suggestion is to use the own theme, there's one person who's offering FREE service for wordpress theme in freebie section, maybe if we spent $5-10 and get our own theme if we are not too keen to write one ourselves, or at least, we can alter some of the CSS and php to get it done..

just my 2 cents, thanks for reading

that's okay IMO. maybe more experts can explain.

basically, it's all fine if u use the same layout, with maybe sub-domain, but we don't really know what ur intentions are...

if what ur saying what u wanted to do.

i would use like for example

    www.myrealestate.com

and listing, sorting, properties display, etc etc if u r going for all states

    let's say US.

    iowa.myrealestate.com
    florida.myrealestate.com
    maine.myrealestate.com

and u can then divide with smaller conditions to check and then again, you can use those sub domain's keys to search from main one. just need to select the correct files from ur main DB.

it iwll also help bots to index full data of your site hence, florida keyword will be relevant with ur realestate site.

    just my thoughts.

Yea its ok, not a problem depending on what niche is though. I have 50 proxies all with the same template and layout and they;re working out just fine.

This is so true, I have seen a lot of sites with the same design but different content and they do very well.
