Hello guys, I was planning for a visit to my Boss at Chicago on April 1st of this year and so i just went to makeMyTrip.com and did a Round Trip search for New Delhi,India - Chicago,US and CHicago,US - New Delhi,India God,i couldnt believe at my eyes... I saw this; Its just 50,000 INR = 1100 $ Can you believe that ? Just 4 months back,it was 2400$ . What happened to the Aviation Sector,my god ?? Any ideas??
Right, its January 13 and im going to book my tickets for April 1st. So i guess, its less.. But anyhow, its really unbelievable..
You are getting some discounts due to 3 months advance booking and also rates are down in India. Even domestic flight rates are 40% down in last 2 months
I'm sure that's true. There's virtually no profit in the air travel business, these days: costs have escalated, competition is everywhere, national airline carriers are going bankrupt like it's going out of fashion, and it was never a hugely profitable business in the first place. The matchbox business, on the other hand, has been a steadily profitable and successful one, worldwide, for many decades. There are far greater % profit margins available on a box of matches than on an air-ticket.
Australia has some budget airlines. But with those, you don't get the perks that you would on a regular (expensive) flight. But if I can save $2-500 on a return flight, I don't mind supplying my own food and entertainment
Of course I usually bring more than a bag of peanuts and my laptop and dvd player with movies I like..haha
You guys are really lucky. Hera we pay for baku-istanbul-baku some 600 dollars The mileage is hardly 2200 for a roundtrip. And this is in country that drill own oil, which is one of the most suitable for avia fuel
The cheaper flights in India is due to reduction in prices of ATF - Aviation Turbine Fuel. Just to match the cooling oil prices worldwide, the ATF prices were reduced a couple of times which paved the way for cheaper flights. Of course, cheaper flights should not compromise on the quality or safety in air travel.
here in the philippines.. just have to book in early.. like planning your trip 3 months ahead... sometimes you get lucky you get ZERO fare...
I want to go to Bangkok and it is about $400 where I live. It includes accommodation and fooding It is cheap though!
The oil price drops a lot, the cost of freight drops . Also due to the cirsis, the passengers decrease, airline company must promote their business to survive .
