Yup, I download lots of vids for free of youtube, already converted! whoops, shoulda done your research! Good luck
Don't be so hard on him...it's a real bummer to work so hard and be disappointed. And there's bound to be a market for this...remember, not everyone is savvy enough to have heard of limewire and bitorrent-the reason all those game/mp3 download sites work so well, so there's gotta be a lot of people surfing youtube that don't know how to go about it. The best way to promote this may be through youtube itself, and given the right exposure it could become a secondary tool to all them surfers. All the best with it.
The site looks great, and yeah, I can see there's lots of hard work gone in, but when you type 'download youtube videos' in google and see 103m results, wouldnt you consider another niche? It doesnt take 2 mins to see how saturated a niche is!
True, but one thing I've learned from IM in the past is that there's always another way. It might not do too well with an affiliate network, but dickson here can build it into a decent enough brand that people begin searching for it when they need to dload youtube vids.
Personally I would let these guys get you down. Just post a video on youtube how your program works and you are bound to get people that is interested in your program. You just have to look at what your program can do that a lot of free web sites can't. For example converting to other media formats. Create a demo on how easy it is for someone to download a video to their ipod. That alone is going to have people interested.
Now if you incorporated video editing features into it (watermarking, audo, splicing, etc) I would be interested. I do a lot of youtube marketing and I have to use 2 programs for the whole job, an all-in-one could sell. What you offer, however, is available for free in some great programs already.
I agree with MedicAffiliate, you can NEVER EVER predict if a product will work or not. You can NEVER predict how will it sell just based on a quick look on results in google. AND seeing a lot of free alternatives was NEVER a problem for commercial products because there are always people that are prepared to pay for: - reliability - professional support - having things served on plate for them
