Looking for 2+ years of hosting from a reliable host!

    Hey,
I'm looking to buy at least 2 years of hosting. My budget is $170, meaning I can spend at most $7.08 per month (I'm buying it all at once though).

In a host, I NEED the following:
    - Paypal payment.
    - cPanel with PHPMyAdmin.
    - FTP access.
    - 99.9% uptime or higher.
    - Quick loading times regardless of the time of day.
    - PHP5 support.
    - MySQL, and dozens if not unlimited databases.
    - Host dozens if not unlimited domains/sites. I need to host at least a dozen sites, but the option to add any more whenever I feel like it is a plus.
    - Mail support (i.e. being able to view and send mail from via an email client).

    These are definite plus:
    - High disk space (40gb at the very least).
    - Perl, CGI, Ruby, and/or Python support.
    - Cron.
    - PHP extensions (GD, CURL, etc)
    - High bandwidth.
    - A reputable company that's been in the business for a long time. Twice now I've purchased hosting and had it canceled since the host went out of business.
    - Smart support staff (I'm not too picky about support speed, but incompetent morons for support is a major drawback).

I won't consider hosting with the following:
    - No option to buy the hosting with Paypal.
    - "Fine print" exceptions. I read the TOS before purchasing hosting! I don't care for sites which state unlimited disk space but say they reserve the right to cancel my hosting if I host lots of images. I don't want my site to be deleted for having large amounts of images, videos, music, etc. In short, if I'm given an allotted (or non-allotted) disk space, I want to be able to use it. If the TOS gives me a "slimy" vibe, I won't buy hosting.
    - Unprofessional sites. Sites with blatant typos, poor sentence structure, and crappy looking layouts are frowned upon.
    - Hosting priced over $170 for 2 years.

Link me to sites you think would fit my specifications.

    Thanks.

You're not going to find an honest web host offering you 40GB of webspace for around $7.00 dollars monthly. Simply doing so would be overselling. If you're actually planning on utilizing 100% of the 40GB., I would look to increase your budget. If you're not, try to determine what you would actually need.

If you do go with a host that overselling - I would strongly advise against paying for 2 years upfront.

blackflag is wright, if you are looking to pay $7 for 40gb space, you are asking for an overseller and paying for 2+ years in advance for that host is a VERY bad idea. if they suspend your account for using too much "resources" after the money back guarantee grace period, you will have a huge headache.

agree with blackflag and njoker555. its better to get a vps if you plan to use all of the 40gb. however, i heard hostgator is one of the best oversellers though.

I assume you aware about of risks you might have with such long term payments in such tight times.... I would recommend pay monthly for the hosting now

Think A2hosting.com services fits you well. This company provides a wide range of hosting services including a VPS solution that will be better in your case.
At least you will be able to control and manage your web site so as you want.

You may be able to find something since you are paying for 2 years straight but a VPS will suit you better as the others mentioned.

rcadble, your requirements are too high and your budget is too low. You should have had $25 budget per month. No host will ever be able to give you "40GB use able space" with high bandwidth requriements for just $8 per month. It is totally impossible but very possible by a "CHEAP Overselling Host".You must go for VPS. I don't see any other option you have.

We are fully capable for providing such a plan, but at the very least, it would cost around $30.00 monthly.

If you're paying 2 years in advance make sure the company has existed for at least 2 years.

How many files are you going to host? Is 50,000 files enough for you?
