What not many people realize is that Hamas uses buildings in the Gaza for double purposes. So, one building may be a school, but also used for military. What happens then? Children die because they made it so that would happen. Who is the bad guy then? Hamas. When America was attacked by Japan, did we go eh? No, we bombed the hell out of them. The gaza is mad that it isn't an equal war. They believe an eye for an eye, so that doesn't work in war. Also, Israel won't let any journalists report in the country, so all you see is the Gaza's point of view which is dead people. Does that mean Israel doesn't have dead civilians? They have been getting rocketed for months. Next time when you debate, know your subject.
The difference is that the Germans decided to stop their aggression. The Palestinians had two states in 1948 -- Jordan and Palestine. Jordan, the West Bank and Gaza are together far larger than Israel. Israel completely withdrew from the Gaza Strip in 2005. It doesn't seem that any Israeli concession will bring peace.
When you lose a war the defeated gives up their land that is simple. If America would have lost the revolutionary war we would all have British accents right now. lol. It may sound harsh but that is what happens in the real world no smoking screens about it get over it.

I learned a lot from watching Bob Simon on Charlie Rose the other night. Simon is a reporter who has also lived many years in Israel. He seems to not be hopeful of long terms peace. One of the reasons he states is that the west bank is just too partitioned with settlements now and that if the Israeli government tried to dismantle the settlements there as they did in gaza, that it would pretty much cause civil war(he didn't use the term civil war). http://www.charlierose.com/view/interview/9900 Fast forward to about 6:00 to hear him speak on this.
It seems to be on the table that the Israelis are willing to give up 90% of the West Bank and 100% of Gaza. There also are offering some land on the Israeli side of the green line in compensation.
For me it is a proof that Israel never wanted to make a peace with Palestinians in first place. They wouldn't bring in all those settlers (from which most are extreme rightists) into West Bank. You simply wouldn't negotiate over some part of land if you on the ground doing almost everything possible to make harder to leave that land.

Actually you need to learn some history.. Britain owns Britain and does not own Palestine, so they can't give what they do not own, to whom does not deserve, using your logic, since Britain colonized India too, did they have the right to give it to Arabs, and then Arabs claim it as theirs? additionally, Britain left the problem to UN to decide and UN came with the partition plan.

I think you misinformed a bit. Israel doesnt let journalists into GAZA, the land where the fighting is, not into Israel. The reports from Gaza that youve been seeing are from ppl, that were already there before that ground operation started. ermm, does that mean Berlin shouldve been in Russia now? I saw a flag over there in 1945 The words you are throwing are right, but they worked in the past, like 10 centuries ago with vikings, and even at them times there was revenge and ppl tried to get their land back.
