Is it comes under SEO?

hi ,

I am working as SEO analyst. I am promoting and increasing the traffic for my company sites. Now, They targeted me to increase the enquires for product sale. I am concentrating only for promoting sites. Is this enquires works comes under SEO? Please suggest me and post your reply.

Hmmm, yes and no - it depends on what you include in your services as an SEO, and also what a client expects. All SEO work includes increasing traffic to websites, but many SEO's also look at optimising the site to increase conversions - Google Website Optimiser is a good tool to use for this to see what works best with the customers.

I think that if your clients didn't specifically ask you to do this in the first place then you should charge extra for this service, or maybe do a deal with a percentage of the increase in sales?

 

Should know more about SEM or search engine marketing. BTW, SEO is under SEM.

SEO used to be limited to ranking and traffic but is no longer true. It is becoming more and more holistic in nature and now include the entire cycle.
Search engine optimization is done with a purpose, to achieve a goal(s). In your case your company is wanting you to take the entire process. Which means your work is not confined to just getting rankings and traffic but also leads.

Hell lot of work, website usability and conversion optimization are easier said than done.

I think it should not be an SEO job..

Because,

SEO: Search Engine Optimization is a process to alter your website in such way that you can get higher ranking in Search Engine Results Pages and thus you can draw more traffic to your site.

The job which is given to you, comes under Internet Marketing.

And SEO is one part of Internet Marketing...

No I don't think lead generation comes under search engine optimization.

 

Yes, SEM is one of the step ahead that can help you in lead generation but it is just one method, you will need to follow other strategies to bring sales lead.

It has something to do with SEO because it brings more potential client for your company. You should build some buzz about the product that you are selling.

Product selling and seo service both are different but Why we need seo? To increase our business.

so if you have made deal with your client that seo service will increase products selling then client can ask about it.

So, its advisable that you must reach to a mutual agreement with your client for seo service you are providing before you start serving to client.

the point where your company is targeting you to do do not actually comes under SEO but it comes under search engine marketing or more accurately if said

the this type of work is done by affiliates..........dont mess up with them for this but try to resolve everything calmly
