My question has to do with iframes and showing ads on prohibited adult sites. What happens if you sign up for an ad company for a site that's approved, but then you show your ads on a non-approved (and prohibited adult) website? I know that if you just showed your javascript or iframe code in that adult site that you'll get busted. But what if you call on an iframe and in that iframe is a link to your approved website which then shows the ad? Is there anyway for them to track it? I assume they'll just see it's coming from your approved site since the iframe is calling on it. Anyone with experience with this?
Well how will they find out? that's my question Do they know that another site is calling on the iframe from the legitimate site? Let's say it's not something "bloodthirsty" like Google but rather a lesser known site. Think they'd find out?
If they decide to investigate, then they may find out... though i have seen a lot of sites out there that use iframes to display ads to fool the user, and sometimes to save space... personally it's not worth taking the risk
There are legit reasons to use iframe, since slow loading javascript can slow down your page if the adserver is on a heavy load. But yes they can detect what pages you put the code on. Javascript can detect the Top Window Set, and its url, all adnetworks are doing this pretty much. In Bidvertiser for e xample if you put the code on a non-approved site, you will get warning saying the detecting your ads on a non-approved site. In Adsense they can ban your domain from showing ads, in Yeildmanager all click on the banner include the domain it originated from.
They will probably find out, because they will notice that the ads are being placed on sites that are not allowed to be on, just like with AdSense.
In fact, one of my friends tried this trick. Google found out and banned his adwords account. Plus, google put his website into filter which caused him lost his traffic from google. He got traffic about 30,000 UIP per day and now he only got 2,000 UIP per day. For other network, I really don't know.
