Main problem with my blog (1st blog in my signature) design is that the main post body width is only 485px.So I can't accomodate two 250px ads side by side.I have been trying to find some help from the HTML experts about this issue.I would like to reduce the gap between sidebars and the main post body (by increasing the width from 485px to 505 px). Can anyone help me?
I'm finally implementing this on my site. I hope the CTRs will increase. My next dilemma is whether to display these ads to search engine visitors only, or to anyone viewing the page with the ads. Anyone care to comment on this?
I'll PM you the site URL, as I don't want visitors flooding it just for the sake of viewing the ad placement It's only been less than 24 hours since I implemented this. To be honest, although I got a few clicks, the text-image placement (within content) couldn't beat the CTR earning of my link ads (below nav). I make almost 80% more with link ads compared to text/image ads, whichever the placement is. My current ad setting in my site has a banner ad (AdSense/AdBrite) right below the web site title, and only displays to search engine users. Next is a link ad just below the navigation menu. On the right is an Amazon.com vertical banner. Right below the post title, is a Chitika eMiniMall which displays ads only to certain countries. In the middle of my post, there's the text link / image ads like what's recommended here. At the bottom of the post is a brief text link to a selected number of ClickBank products. You may think this is an ad overkill, but it doesn't stop my users from doing at least an average of 5-10 page views per visit. I'm getting about $30 a month on AdSense alone, my biggest money maker is the link ads, and my strategy is to increase search engine traffic. If the text/image placement doesn't impress me within a week or two, I'm planning on removing it. That's my feedback so far
Tips given, I am currently in the process of writing up an adsense guide to share what I have learned using adsense.
your method did work well on one of my blog gets pretty good clicks and usually they are above $1 click. this site has good CTR now also. thanks
Check out this video about psychological Adsense Optimization. I am summing up all the important points which will help you with boosting your CTR.
Did something similar some time ago but it didn't seem to be working for me. Then again it looks like a pretty good idea, so i guess i'll give it a try again
I have yet to set an exact date, however I hopefully plan on having it written up within the next 2 weeks. Also I am still yet to decide whether to sell it or give it away for free, In all honesty I will end up giving it away for free to help newbies out who have no startup budget.
What is a good CTR? 8% sounds huge to me. Most of my sites average below 1% CTR. I do have very good volume of visitors but CTR is low.
aaronlamont1 I have a site that has been up for a few months now. My page views average well over 1000 per day but I get virtually no click through. No revenue. http://www.riddledepot.com Can you give some advice on ad placement?
Right, totally, when adsense said don't put images next to ads, who didn't think of this method already? But, I think you should make it look more appealing. I hate being hit in the face with ads right off.... speaking from the other side of the fence. I believe it works well when you're sending traffic with your adwords. At least you get the impression points if nothing else! Is it me or do you find you get paid less for clicks when trafficking from adwords??
