hey everyone.. I'm here to share a tip for those who consider blog and forum commenting an effective way for link building. It's both fun and effective. While commenting on wordpress blogs and forums, you can leave a backlink to your site using a smiley as an anchor text! Try clicking on any of these emotions/smileys and it will lead you to another site Despite not having a proper anchor text, it will help you if SEO is concerned. This trick can be considered as blackhat, but isn't it fun ? I call it a Smiling Backlink And for the noobs, the codes are For Forums [ U R L = " h t t p : / / w w w . g o o g l e . c o m " ] : ) [/url] Code (markup): For Wordpress Blogs <a href="http://google.com">:)</a> Code (markup):
Lol, any half decent admin would spot that straight away, plus you'd lose out on potential business because people wouldn't know it's a link, like if you posted on a car forum with a link to a car insurance website, if you had a link with 'cheap car insurance' in the link people would know what it was about so you might get clicks and traffic from that. but if it was just a smiley it wouldn't get noticed, the only slight gain you'd get from that is if it was DoFollow and google cached it. As for being a blackhat technique... thats doubtful. And 'As for the noobs, the codes are' If your posting on a forum and dont know link code your in the wrong profession. Still, funny to do I suppose
This "super tip" might only work if the admin is blind Otherwise spam like [ U R L = " h t t p : / / w w w . g o o g l e . c o m " ] : ) [/url] will be deleted right away.
But for me any knowledge shared by fellow blogger, should be welcomed. No more or no less. Thanks for your tips.
But your still loosing traffic at any rate, even if Google does spider it and cache that, actually getting someone to go to your site through direct deliberate clicks is alot better, so it's almost killing itself slightly this 'technique'
Kudos for thinking out of the box. But this method won't work in most cases and might put your normal comment link in jeopardy if spotted. Only place it might work well is unmoderated or lousily moderated blogs. But you don't have to be subtle there.
