Adsense or Affiliate Links

I always struggle with putting adsense ads on my site with affiliate links. With adsense you can make pennies to a buck a click. With affiliates paying upwards of 25% or more, you can make much more.

My question is, do you think it is good to mix them both? Sometimes I might get a commision as high as $20 or more based on the buyers amount through my affiliate.

On my site I have adsense ads that go to the same affililiates I'm promoting.

When people are on my site go through the adsense ads, I get nothing compared to an affiliate sale. Should I keep promoting adsense on my sites?

    Thanks for your help!:D

Mix them both. That way, if you don't make any sales at least you
get clicks on your AdSense ads. :)

If affiliate products are cheap, you can use both.

Adsense ads are only for those webmaster who runs good websites with large traffic . If you get targeted traffic than you must first give preference to affiliates than place your adsense ads below or between content .

It really depends upon your niche and the affiliate products available for you to promote.

atulperx is right. If you have site with large number of bookmarkers who are seeking freebies adsense should be a better option. With adsense you need lot of traffic to make good money with the exception of few niches with high paying keywords. But then you have heavy competition for them.

If you decide to mix it, make sure that you try to promote your affiliate products first and prominent. If your surfers do not bite for your affiliate offers, then show them adsense as an effort to get some money from the traffic.

I think there's no problem in having both. However, I would suggest that you'll be successful in one of them first before having both.

To make money from Adsense, I believe they should be on top of your posts. Therefore, the attention of the visitors will be diverted and your affiliate links.

If you do a review about the product you are selling, visitors might click your link but ignore the Adsense. They might be annoyed with them since the ads are distracting them while reading the review.
