Cheapest Domain renewal options - Dotster Wants $15.95 For 1 Year!!

Hi. My current registrar for a domain is dotster and I need to renew it today.

Dotster renewal is $15.95 for 1 year!! Seems WAY TOO expensive given what I have read here at DP.

Can I "push" it to another regristrar that has a cheaper renewal rate or are there any Dotster coupons?

    Much Thanks DP'ers!!:D

Phone or email Dotster and ask for lower pricing (Ie: $8.95). Say that you are looking at cheaper registrars. It worked of me.

Yes you can push it.But it can only be done before the domain expired.
I do suggest you push to godaddy coz their price is cheap.

if we transfer domain to godaddy, will the expiry date change + 1 year?

I'm a Dotster reseller and I got a small discount simply by emailing them threatening to move away :)

Well, you can transfer your domain to domain.com. Domain.com is dotster sister company but offer much lower price than dotster.

The price to transfer to domain.com cost only $6.11 if you use 15% off coupon - " htmli.info ". Transfer a domain will automatically increase a year of registration. Example: A domain expired date is 1 January 2009 after you transfer the domain it will become 1 January 2010

Just transfer it to other registrar like Name.com./Godaddy.It will add 1 year to current expiry date + it will be much cheaper.

Enom, directi, name.com etc renew the domains at the regular prices. This is not same for dotster, register.com etc. Domains should be transferred to other registrars if you do not want to pay high price. You should do this task before they expire because after expiration you may not be able to transfer the domain.
