Hi, I was wondering how to go about asking a site to link to me. It seems that emailing sites can be considered spam so i am wondering if it can be done without getting in any trouble.

    1. Write a unique content article for the site base on the keyword that is relevant to both sites.

    2. Send the webmaster an email and trade the content for link to your sites.

Note: Sometimes it takes a while for some webmasters to reply so be patient and send more emails.

Link exchange is done by every webmaster........if you think that other website is of your niche then........send an email with subject as "Link exchange request" and dont lie in the sub as you are sending any corrupted emails or selling your product...........in the email write request for link exchange with writing the links of your with anchor text and also welcoming the same thing from his end..........write in some professional manner otherwise you will be ignored even if you have a very good site...........

If your site offers something that is valuable to the other webmaster they won't mind the link exchange request. So do your research and only contact sites where you can offer content that the webmaster would be interested in linking to.

The way you ask for the exchange is very important. I've had requests that go along the lines of:

"please put my link on your site first and I will put yours on mine" - (wtf...you're the one asking for the link and you're making it sound like I'm going to cheat you)

"I don't have to tell you that it benefits us to exchange links" - (no, don't tell me at all)

"I'm waiting for you to put my link on your site" - ( yes you are)

and many more such arrogant/off-putting/curt lines that just make me hit the delete button.

If you are going to do a link exchange put there link on your site first. Send them an email with the link and ask if you can have a link on theres. Some webmasters are busy so put some urgency in. Let them know you will keep the link on your site for two weeks while they decide if it is right for them. Make sure the site you are asking is relevant.

If you have a post(s) that is relevant to their site email the links because they may be able to incorporate them into their site. I have a tools section and it is helpful links that my readers can benefit from. Send a site beneficial info and they may link back.
