it's probably a combination of many factors including the fact that most of america's leadership is formed by christians who probably believe the bible to be true thus they believe the jews are supposed to have that piece of land. Another fact might be that the israeli/jewish lobby is strond in america and accusations of anti-semitism can even end a politician's career, thus they are able to simply dismiss any criticism of israel's actions as anti-semitism @mercuryyy well, that's true, but you have to have some simpathy too dude.
