Hello everyone. i am new to SEO and trying to pick up a few tips. I have a little understanding of it but can someone ask this question for me please. Say i wanted to be first on google for the keyword "Dedicated servers". Will having txt links pointing to my site with the txt saying Dedicated servers give me more of a chance of climbing up the google ladder? Thanks in advance David
Of course it will help. Quality links with good link anchor text is the main driving force of good rankings. Don't go out and get a ton of links that all say 'dedicated servers' though. You'll want to vary your link anchor text so that your linking looks natural. If you get too many links with the same anchor text it would look spammy. Also you'll want to have plenty of unique content on your website too. Plus there are various onpage seo factors to consider.
Hey. You say unique content. Does that have to be loads of content? Or does the whole page structure/coding be unque. because if you take alook at http://www.accuratehub.com you will see we have little content for less confuseing
There is no "magic bullet" for getting serps anymore. You will need a large combination of factors, but yes inbound links are a good start. You need to make sure your site is optimized, title tags, text, etc. Make sure you're listed in directories. See if you can get some of your customers to link back to you. Provide as much content and relevant information on your site that you can, and make it original. Work on exposure and indexing first, and SERPS will follow. Here are a couple articles I've written that might help you get started. 10 things you can do to increase search engine exposure Five easy steps to better SEO Hope this helps.
Good quality unique content with proper keyword placement is what will help get you a good ranking with Google.
Is XMLssitemaps.com good for this? I've never made one and don't know a thing about it but it's the first one that came up.
I use gsitecrawler and have for quite a while. It works great, even on large sites and it's also free. Though I suggest donating something to them if you can, this will encourage future development!
