Hi, I just bought a new hp pc, the monitor is really nice and huge 19",(I was working with 14" laptop.) intel quad core q6600, 2 gb ram, 640 gb hd,, yes, I know its going to be super fast.I have alredy tried using the monitor connected with my laptop but not the cpu yet.The problem is I don't have any windows install in my system.I have freedos coming with it.When I switch on, I get black screen and something like what I get when I go to start > run. I have no idea how to install windows, I also don't know where to download it, can anyone please help me install windows xp ? Advice will be really appreciated, but if you are willing to help me from finding the xp download, to giving advice and to finally install windows xp in my system, please let me know because I can pay u for that. do you have a windows cd? if so start your pc, go into bios and set it to run from the cd drive. turn ur pc off then put the cd in the cd drive and start ur pc up, it will start to install windows.
Thanks for mentioning about cd, it made me remember that I think I once have it for my older computer but I will need to dig for it.Can u please tell me what is bios and how do I go into bios ? And is there anyway to download windows xp from the net ? I can write to cd after that. Thanks.
if u have a window xp cd then this is not a problem.Turn on ur pc and put xp cd n go to bios setup. there u go to boot and set primary boot:- cd drive ,save n exit .it will take automatically xp from cd nd set up start.
To enter BIOS you need to restart your PC and during the pre-boot process you must press either F2 or Delete button. Refer to the motherboard manual for which button you should press. Then you need to choose your Optical drive as the 1st option in the boot sequence. This way, the system will detect the CD and you can start Windows installation process. Download XP from the net mean you will be using illegal copy of Windows. You can search it on warez forum and we're not allowed to post warez here.
I have a question, I was luckily able to find windows xp online, and I have alredy downloaded it, so next step I must burn it to cd right ? I wanted to ask that all the files is in the zip file, do I have burn only specific file or should I burn the zip file to the cd ? Please help, I got to sit and wait until someone help me. Thanks
Yes you need to burn the Windows XP zip file to a CD. Do NOT extract it or it might disable your hardware and start a fire. ----- FFS If you can't pinch software without someone holding your hand, GO AND BUY IT. Some of us are software developers, and as much as I love to hate MS, stealing ANY software is still pretty fkn lame.
