Hello all! I have this kind of situation: I have site with domain. Lets name it domain1 And i want to by another domain(just domain). Lets name it domain2 And i want this domain2 to leads on domain1. Basically my two domains to open same site. My question is: Will this be marked as Dublicate Content from search engines? Because domain1 and domain2 show same thing? And if YES , how to make this thing SEO friendly? Thank you very much
Yes, using 2 or many domains for 1 site is possible. And they will NOT be treated as "Duplicate" Content because what you will be doing is. 1. Buy domain 1 and use the nameservers which your host gives you. 2. Now redirect ALL the other domains to your main site "www.examplesite.com". So whenever someone enters domain1.com your MAIN site will open, but when he enters domain2.com it will just get redirted to domain1.com automatically. I hope it is clear to you now?
Nope, it won't be counted as duplicate content but the domain most likely only one of the domains will receive any SEO benefit. That is the domain that you are redirecting to. I see no point in maintaining two domains to one site though.
I am asking because my domain1 have no PR ... and the domain2 has for example PR5 ... and its from the same niche of course. So i was wondering can i benefit from this PR on domain2. And if i continue work on SEO for both of them ... maybe the domain1 will become PR2 and domain2 PR6 for example ? My logic right?
Not really, first your page rank 6 domain will loose all It's rank since It was bought, the whois info changed, the content will change, the server will change, google will notice that and all your links are back to 0. Second, your domain2 will be a blank page with a redirect so, It won't affect the other domain1 ranking. Cheers.
Hello , sorry but this has no sense. If any domain looses his PR when its sold(changed ownership) ... then why domain market exists? You know better PR , bigger price , check DP`s domain market... have no sense - domains to loose their PR on ownership change! Dont think this what you saying is right, no offense , just opinion.
Freddy gave some good answers. It does not work like that. You do not benefit with redirects. For one thing, the only advantage of PR is for link selling and when selling a site. With redirects, it will show up as a faked PR because of the redirect. A good example was I owned a blogspot blog that earned a PR2. I decided to add my own domain name to the blogspot blog. Both domains now had a PR2 but one showed faked. I did link building for both and earned a PR3 ranking. Still one of them showed fake. I sold the domain name and kept the blog and on the next update, both names lost all PR. It does not always happen but some times it does. I think he was more referring to if you just registered a dropped domain. In that case, it almost always happens. You are better off developing both names as separate sites. The only advantage to having more than one name pointed to a site is when you are protecting the name by acquiring all the extensions or when there is a possibility of a misspell so you buy all possibilities.
