Incoming Links vs. Amount of Pages vs. SERPS

This is kind of a complicated question so I will do my best to describe it.

    Is it true that if....

I have a one page website with a bunch of links that point it, that page is going to do well in SERPS. I think we can all agree that this is true.

    Now.....

If I turn the one page site into a 5 page site and DONT increase the amount of backlinks, are my pages going to rank as well as they did when there was just one.

    Okay now....

Now my site has 100 pages and I still haven't increased my backlinks, are they going to rank even worse?

I know the goal is to increase the amount of backlinks, while increasing your content.

The new pages with no backlinks (and only internal links) will start ranking after some time. If you build links for them as well, then you're more likely to see them soon picking up in rankings. Whether you get the desired rankings depends on the fact the way your competition is working.

If the original backlinks are authoritative then they will pass on the juice slowly. I'm assuming all the pages are well-optimized and well-linked together.
    Same as above!

    - My 2cents :) :)

if you link them internally, your main page will pass some of its pagerank back to the internal pages. This will have an effect on both your main page AND the internal pages.

Hmm, I don't think I can agree with that one fully - it totally depends on the competitiveness of the keyword....

your home page will rank the same as it did before - but if you optimise your sub pages and then have them linking back via KW related anchor text links to your home page - the rankings will get better. You'll also need to link well form your home page to these sub pages

pretty much the same answer as above. Your sub pages probably won't be ranking great without an increase in back links to them, although if they are specialised enough and your home page has a high enough PR they might do well...

PR juice will be distributed to all your other pages if you make good internal link structure .But for getting higher rank you have to get more back links and deep linking will help you to get it soon.

also content of all pages will play big role on ranking.

it makes no difference.PR is based on links pointing to a individual web page .increasing pages has no effect .

If you name your URLs for back pages using your keywords and link to these pages with anchor text from the home page (eg navigation menu, footers, a few content links) then I would have thought that you were improving the internal SEO of the home page. I remember reading in a different forum a belief that internal links benefitted the linking page if the right anchor text was used.
