very interesting but i think google would like us to believe this so we can all tell our clients that seo is dead and that they should spend their cash on pay per click (ppc) lol yeah right google dream on. :)

I am also not interested in 'personalized search', which is touched on a bit in this video. I don't care for it from an SEO standpoint, as well as a user standpoint.

From an SEO perspective, I don't want my potential visitors to not see my web site because they have historically visited my competitors' sites when searching for a related term I used to rank well for.

From a user standpoint, I don't want to see the same results I get each time I search for something based on my past searches of the term I am searching. Maybe I am looking for information other than what I am finding on those web sites. I think results will become stale and possibly unhelpful.

Maybe I'll switch to Yahoo! if this happens...

Look, People are saying Google is personalizing the results, means when you will be logged in to google account then the results will depends on your IP..haha...Why...It will bring problems ...Like you will see a bunch of list from your IP and you want to search a universal word...Like Shopping online etc...So If I am typing this word in Google then I want all kind of Shopping cart sites not only related to my IP (my area sites)...
Next...People saying that when a person is personalizing its research then it is making the person to stuck with with his personalized sites..Example is ...Look I loged in google I search a keyword and choosed 10 favorite sites then and coming next week typing same keyword and receiving same old week personalized site now the problem starts...I want new..SEO's was there to give sites ranks and give a new results after every new update...that is the way Internet world was developing more and more advance..And Now you say SEO is dead...If SEO is Dead then Internet world will be finished..

And no way it is going to end the internet world..Look I think they are applying this method just to make big companies to again increase there ppc budgets right...But the thing is this they are changing method and if they make SE personalize then people will focuss on Yahoo and yahoo seo..It will be a lose...What you say?

That personalized search experiment seems to be a failure. I keep reading about it on the 12 or so RSS feeds I get every day. There was a survey taken, and the results say that most people wanted to know how to get rid of the feature because they wanted the traditional search page to look the way it used to.

What I can see happening is Google moving towards a more social way of indexing search results.

Google's main goal is to give users what they are looking for which is relevant content. The best jury on content quality is humans themselves and not "robots". This means that Google could very well use a Digg type system or other types of voting systems to bump up different result's. Of course you could cry manipulation but that's the case as it is now anyways with linkbuilding etc.

Search is already becoming more universal with videos, pictures, etc. Big changes are on the way. There will always be a need for online marketing.
