This is my first site at an attempt to generate some money from it. Can someone tell me if the website looks good. Are the colors fine and all. Does it look nice. Its the site in red in mny signature. I would like to know what you guys think. Hopefuly it looks kind of attractive.
I'll give my honest feedback. I think you should spend $20.00 and throw up a contest for a new banner. It is okay but it seems to stand out so much that it doesn't look like it goes with the rest of the site. On my screen, I see a greenish tint to most everything else, but your banner is red and yellow. The second thing I would adjust is the small blocks of advertising. The two I see right now (i don't know if they rotate) is the one with a red car on it the other is black and says "spiderweb marketing". They hug the left side. Those should be centered too. It could be an error with my browser, but I use a common one... Internet Explorer 6. Everything else looks good and is uniform!
A lot of text and kind of boring colors. I would rethink having your picture in the top left unless you are really trying to brand yourself. A lot of scrolling down is needed and too much text to read while scrolling will probably turn some people away. Have you thought about having more tabs with sub categories in them? Highlighting or bulleting some of your offers may allow for easier navigation.
Small fixed metric fonts are an accessability /FAIL/, the light colored text in the sidebar on the light colored background is effectively illegible due to a lack of contrast. The god-aweful flaming header does not match the subdued colors of the rest of the page and looks like some random banner slapped atop a stock template. The centering of all content makes reading the lines difficult, and the serif fonts are certainly no /WIN/ either (though adding letter spacing could alleviate that). Of course I hit ctrl-alt-v in opera, and understand why you only want critiques of the appearance, since at 131 errors for a page that only has 6k of actual content I'd break the character limit of a vBulletin post by listing what's wrong with the markup.
My honest opinion : It's full loaded with text ads and image ads you should remove at least the bottom ones. As of my perspective the banner isn't really of anyone's taste. Someone 'really popular' would use their photo as a website branding not someone just starting out. The recent visitors feed widget is just useless.
yea.. i have changed a few things. i really want to stay with this theme since i found it on the net for free and it has all the ads setup where all i have to do was put in my id. I'm a newb at all this. This is my first site. I have changed it so the ads are centered. tabs as in like at the very top of the screen or like under the header ?... is that what you're talking aobut. I have changed everythign a bit. I took out my own picture i'm a newd.. what do u mean by mextric fonts. So i guese i shuld make the text a little darker. what do u mean 131 error? i have no idea what opera is. I'll have to look into what rthat is. what do u mean by 6k? I'm confused. So far these are the changes i have made to the original i had before: - changed gogole ads to blend with background colour -changed the header banner - changed the color of teh background to blue - changed the text color of the sidbar to black and its background for teh header in teh sidebar to yellow. i'm so new at this ... it like took me 2.5 hours just to change those things above the original looked like this: hxxp://i43.tinypic.com/5mk96c.jpg ( change the hxxp to http) click on the red link below in my signature for what i have as the most current. Hopefully its looking better than it was before. Please tell me if it is.
