    Hello peeps.

Ive tried optimizing my site for 4 keywords on th emain page. I have about 300 products on site, but the main page has the keywords for only 4 of them.

When link building is it best to link straight to the product pages, or link to the main page which is seod ( the best i can) for those 4 products?

Is it worth putting as many keywords as possible on the main page or start with those 4 which keywords im aiming for then add more as time goes on?

    thanks for your help

Ideally you would be building backlinks to both your homepage and to your internal pages. Only building links to your homepage would look spammy to the search engines.

It is much easier to optimize a website for 1 or 2 phrases instead of 4+. You can only fit so many keywords in crucial spots like the title, meta description, headers, etc. For a tag like the title tag, it is believed that the closer to the beginning of the tag a keyword appears, the more important that keyword is.

Most people would optimize their homepage for more general terms. If you sell widgets your homepage could target terms like 'buy widgets', 'widget store' or 'widget supplier'. Then you would have category pages to target specific types of widgets such as blue widgets. Then the product pages would target exact names of widget models.

Also it would be best if your product page shows up for the keyword because that page will convert customers much better than your homepage.

The trick is to balance your link building so that your entire site grows together.

Put keywords in main page and even you put related keywords for each internal page in according to the content.

    Hi
First target your main keywords,if they are on your home page then target the home page. You also need to target most of your internal pages where you have other keywords targeted.Do have links from your home page to your internal page.
