Why is article marketing successful?

I have come across so many people who have rated article marketing as being very successful and have known instances of one guy just doing article marketing to get on page 1 for the term 'make money online'.

Most of the articles you will submit will obviously by PR0, except very popular ones. So how can article marketing be so successful.... I have spoke to one person who has ranked number 1 for a medium competitive term (Around 4 mil results) with article marketing with all the link being PRO.

Why oh why?

 

article marketing basically means getting links for free (well, your 'cost' is creating th earticle and submitting it).

And backlinks means weight in the eyes of search engines.

Unique content and backlinks = positioning in the serps.

 

Thanks Contentboss...So basically you still get juice even though the majority of your links will be from PR0 pages, with perhaps some getting PR over time?

 

Plus also the actual articles will rank high in search engines for different keywords and you site will get traffic from that aswell..

 

When you submit articles, people will often use your articles on their websites thus creating backlinks.

Do not believe people when they say PR0 backlinks arent good. ALL backlinks are good and increase your authority, ESPECIALLY when they are natural and not exchanges.

People say whats better: 30 PR3 Sites or 200 PR0 Sites?

I say dont worry about whats better and just get backlinks, everything else will come naturally. Why not have 30PR3 and 200 PR0!

 

yes the more links the better, but also create links to those article from other sites.

 

your articles could go viral, so instead of getting 1 link from the article directory you get another link from the user that is using your content.

Although those articles will mostly likely produce a PR 0, in most cases it will be beneficial to you in the form of someone using your content. Don't worry about getting high PR links right off the bat, with lots of work and persistence they will eventually work their way to you.

 

One question for all the article fans. How long does that link stay in place? Google has applied a 6 month time factor to a link and many of the article sites ARCHIVE the articles be for that time. Therefore no link.

So how many of you have 1 year+ old article links that are in your Webmaster Tools External Links list?

 

If you write well informative articles other publisher will use them, most likely on a site related to the topic. With your link attached to that article there's good chance you'll get visitors. Also, it builds links quickly.

But also, if you submit them to places like Ezinearticles, they seem to get amazingly high SERPS results, and much bigger number of readers than you'd logically expect. As well as getting re-used from there in other places with your links still in them.

EZA will not archive articles and gives you in content back links, whether they gain PR or not is not in your control.

But if you use article marketing sensibly then they can funnel related & targetted traffic to your site as well.

You have to use other techniques other than article marketing in conjunction to gain the max. results!

 

Article Marketing does work, but you should not rely on it alone. It needs to be a part of what you do to promote your sites.

 

I would like to say here if you have good article for your website then you can get good traffic for your site. It doesn't matter that you will put on PR0 or PR1.

Well its the syndication which does the trick. The best ezines like ezinearticles, goarticles, ideamarketers etc syndicate content to various blogs and related websites through feeds. Ofcourse your article is published with your resource box and links back to your site. Also some of the blogs point back to the published article thus indirectly adding weight to your urls.. for eg.

I think articles are very helpful for links. But I am wondering if blog content is better than article contents, assuming they both contain good, quality contents with links to your site.

 

Articles are Successful because you can target EXACTLY how you want the words on the page to appear and the link to your site. You should place your keyword a maximum times of 5 times in the article.

 

Article marketing is not only about getting back links, well that too, but actually indexing the articles in the search engines, overtime they will get a high PR and automatically grow your site in the eyes of Google/Yahoo.

I think keyword research + quality is what matter the most.

Here is my point of view :

Poor quality articles = can be good for seo if the right keywords are used and the right anchor text links in the bio-box. They won't do great for humans, as for informational resources and conversions.

High quality articles = Will do great for conversions, will do great for SEO, if optimized correctly. Will automatically be picked up by a large number of online publications/ blog owners / will be shared and go viral.

So what do you choose ? High quality or low quality ?
