I think it will be more safer to submit your site manually to directories rather than trust sumbitter - Google may penalize for a fast inbound link acquiring.
The number of directories that offer any link value is not large and few if any will allow auto submission. Your best off submitting by hand to the directories that have the topic you will be placed in cached and regularly.
Automated Directory Submitter are not accurate because every directory will have its own rules for submission. Category structure and so on.. you must decide what is appropriate category for your site. by browsing each directory manually. If there is any directory submission software than i don't think it works.
Hi I still suggest that as much as possible stay away from auto submissions. Most directories have filters for this and might find your site to be spamming. Good luck.
yorpark.net : frome where would you be banned ? And why would you type everytime you want to submit your site to directory. Check out that plugin. It is done with the fingers but it is still kind of automatic
There are two kinds of directory: those that don't allow automatic submissions, and those that get spammed. The first kind are usually the most worthwhile to get listed in, because the chances are they've been around longer and have less spam listed in each category. Manual submission is the best way to get good quality directory listings. From directories? A lot of directory editors have multiple directories, and if you submit a lot of dodgy listings automatically it's easy to spot and remember, and to just hit the delete button on all of them. Do it extensively, and it might even get your IP put in a filter.
Hehe why are you talking about bans and all that. If you have a site that is good it really doesn't matter. Directory owner will approve it because that is good for him too. Why would you even have a spam site ?
In theory, but in practice your submission has to pass the sniff test before anyone will even look at your site. This is not just my view, I've heard it from other more experienced editors. It's almost always a waste of time for an editor to look at a site where the submission has several errors in it. Personally I have a cut-off point of two errors on the submission form, before I hit the delete button without taking a look at the site. If it's just one little thing then I will check the site out. But if it's both in the wrong category, for instance, and the description is full of promotional gumph as well, out it goes. Why would I do that? Because if I have to pretty much rewrite the whole submission, my time is better spent on sites that I'm already fairly sure are good quality. I always have a list of around 20 sites on my desk, mostly gleaned from magazines and newspapers (in other words, sites that have already passed one journalist's spam filters). The submission form is only one way to find good listings for a niche directory.
I agree, some of the best submissions I get are from our bulk submission programs from directory submission services.
