Hey, I just recently checked my backlinks and i have TWO...2!! How can this happen? How does someone lose thousands of backlinks in one day?? my site: http://www.technorino.com link:www.technorino.com I used that in google and checked a lot of PR Checkers. My alexa rank avg is also very high. Someone please explain as i am NOT at all happy.
Are you doing any blackhat techniques? That could be the only reason I could think of. Otherwise it is just a problem in their system.
What are "blackhat" techniques? I just go to other blogs and post comments and try to SEO my site as much as possible. Thats pretty much the only techniques i use...oh and i write content frequently. Yes that was when i had backlinks showing There should be more links now as that number (1228) is a few months old. Can anyone help out? Thanks for the responses so far.
May be people who linked to your site removed them - or maybe the SEs are having difficulties in tracking your backlinks. Wait for few days and then re-check.
One of the site's was my friends and i know he didn't remove it and i doubt that over a thousand links would be removed. Who are SE's and this happened after the recent PR update
Also had the same thing happen to me... 1000+ links before and now down to a handful. Trying to figure it out but so far it looks like a problem with google
Thanks for the info but we are trying to figure out what exactly is going on because google's PR matters a LOT to me and so do the backlinks. I dont quite follow you and don't see where alexa comes in. My alexa rank has gone up quite a lot (well the weekly average has atleast by 2mil).
This happens with my site as well, I think the overall amount of links shown for a given site will fluctuate from time to time, but I'm not sure if anything can be done about it.
Not really, Google uses some very complexed filters to determine bogus links. From my experience they are spot on. Link schemers beware, Google can zoom out in ways most people cannot comprehend...patterns are easy to spot.
I don't get bogus links, i just go and post on lots of blogs each day. And why would google just randomly decide to un-reveal all of the links? This kills my PR...
Your Public Relations? Google don't show all links, because of many reasons. One of them is that if someone could see all links you have got for your site and your position, he could do exactly same as you to get same rank (or not). This would be warm welcome for every kind of spammers etc. More important reason is that more smart people who like to analyze and do some reverse engeenering on Google engine, would have easy way do to maths and find a way evaluate links and how they affect ranks. In situation we have - they can only guess and they investigations are far less precise.
One word of advice, forget the Google link: command it's broken/crippled/useless and not even worth looking at.
Are u sure that all are sublinks? For example if u put one home page link,this link will be up in all the sub pages,and if the link is removed from the home page all those will be lost.
