Maan, does anyone know how to get blogs listed in DMOZ at the earliest (please don't recommend any channelled listing thru the many third party sites that exist)

    Thanks in advance

There is no way to 'expedite' a listing in the directory. You can help the reviewing editors by suggesting the blog to the single best category (one time) and write a compliant title and description for it. That 'may' make the suggestion more appealing to an editor for reviewing.

I don't edit in that area but I suspect that there are a lot of suggestions for personal blogs. That means that the review pool is probably going to be very deep and continually refilling so the best advice for a 'quicker' review would be to properly suggest it to the correct place and add a good/compliant description that makes it stand out above the others. There is still no guarantee of a listing and it is still impossible to predict when an editor will find it and make a review but you would have done every thing you can to make it easier for the editors there to find and review the site.

    Hope that helps.

The best thing anyone can do to get listed quicker is to add content. Make your site the best red widgets with white stripes site. Make it a disservice to our users not to have your site listed. By adding more content, you not only make it more likely an editor will add your site faster, but your users will also appreciate more information on red widgets with white stripes. If you have absolutely everything there is to possibly know about red widgets with white stripes, then perhaps you should add content on blue widgets with white stripes.

'Content' expressed here is not the number of pages, posts, or advertisements on your site. It means 'information' that you have gained and are giving to others, whether that is a way to buy your lavendar scented soap, a site devoted to all things dinosaurs, or commenting on customer service problems at major US retail outlets. With a blog, make sure that you are actually posting regularly. Make sure the posts are on topic. And make sure that you have not just actually copied the content from other websites.

    Thanks guys...

Will give it a shot, but I still have my doubts - I did these things with two other sites and they still haven't listed it...

Anyway, shall try your methods and give it a shot, once again

Is it true that, once you submit a site, you cannot resubmit again ?

    thanks in advance

Then quite probably they haven't been reviewed yet. If you did assure that the suggested URL's met the guidelines and gave a proper title/description, and the site still isn't listed the most probable reason would be no one has reviewed it yet.

The submission guidelines specify that you should suggest your URL to the single, most relevant category once for review. If you feel that the first suggestion was incorrect, the wrong category, or the site content has refocused and changed significantly you can resuggest to the single most appropriate category.
Multiple suggestions of the same (or related) URL will only slow the review process down further and in extreme cases (chances are if you are concerned about over-submitting you are NOT an extreme case :) ) the submissions could be labled as spam and blocked permanently.

    Hope that helps.
