For those who have an adwords campaign, does the "content network" section work well? How does that work anyway? Currently under that section I have 1740 impressions, and no clicks. Whereas my other keywords, the ones I chose, have at least a few clicks. thanks
I do have; it is true that usually CTR is smaller than on Google search but it works well. Question: you want only clicks or conversions too?
I have over 10K impressions, but zero clicks. Not sure why. Maybe there is no market for my niche? Trying to change ad copy with no luck.
Well it really depends.. me It does really work well, I get high CTR conversions, plus I make sales, but to pull this off I had to know exactly which keyword converted. but you can be VERY profitable with just content network, I know people that are making a killing using content & placement network only.
alright, well, I'll keep it up for another hundred or so impressions, after that, I'll take it off. thanks all
The content networks works very well in certain niches. Sometimes its hit or miss. In some cases, it performs better than search. If you have the budget for it, it's worth testing out.
u can search for sites relating your products i.e. coin as u say using placement targeting, although generally costs more compared to ads running on content network. however, another way is use lateral keywords and enhance your keyword list to improve clicks n conversions.
I think he meant that it is great to get exposure to your new product/service. Since you may choose to pay per click and still get TONS of impressions visibility with your customer base. ~L
Hi, The content network sometimes work and sometimes doesn't work. It depends on what products you are selling and the keywords you are using.
Yes, the branding things makes sense. Whereas for selling specific products I can't imagine it's very effective, and I certainly haven't found it to be. Random surfers are just not as good potential buyers, but as someone says, it CAN reinforce your brand for relatively little cost in (vaguely) your target groupJ. Judging by the way Google "encourages" you to use the content network (by defaulting all new campaigns to Content Network On and by "reminding" you about it every now and then) I am guessing it's less successful for them too and they would like to increase revenue from that source.
I have had some success with the Content Network but it can be very difficult. I highly recommend that you have separate campaigns for Content and Search. A successful Content Network Campaign can be very different than a Search Network Campaign for the same item. You will want to keep an eye on your placement reports to see what sites your ads are being placed on. Find sites that work for your campaign and target these sites. Make sure that the site is not only relevant to your campaign but also displays your ads in a place on the page that works. Bad Web Design or ad placement can greatly devalue the likelihood of a click. Good Luck.
well if you let it run wild in the jungle..it may be hard to be profitable but still can.. like if you there to capture leads, you have more chance to convert them at a later stage, thus making your content network campaign profitable.. for exemple Im running one now.. which is based on only one keyword from my ppc campaigns and while I don't convert at the same rate as of my ppc campaigns, I still convert and this is by sending my visitor directly to the merchant.
Content network is great for branding and conversions on a different scale. I've run campaigns aimed at getting nothing but impressions with a nice ad that brands a certain website name. Where else can you get your ad shown over 1 million times and pay next door to nothing?
Are you doing this through placement? That would seem to make sense and ensure you can find some very cheap slots, though I guess publishers can blacklist you if you are paying very little...
