Hey guys, I am going to be purchasing a laptop soon and I was wondering what was better a PC or a Mac? And why? I am in the UK and if you live in the UK, what type of computer do you have, if its a PC, which type and how much was it? Just wondering as I am saving up and would like to buy the best. Thanks.
PC ofcourse for me, i dont think i will ever switch to Mac...thats just my opinion I got a laptop for $1500 and it as pretty latest specs
It totally depends what your going to use it for. But TBH I think that most macs are just overpriced pieces of hardware mainly bought for social status or because the person is microsoft hater (and doesn't know of any other alternative than apple). I know they do have some benefits to certain people (e.g. for graphic designers or music/video editing) but to me the price outweighs all of that. I have a custom built PC, cost me about £600-700 to build and I have to say that it's a pretty sweet system. I don't have a laptop yet, but i'm not planning on getting an amazing one, something small which will be able to run the adobe CS3 package and a few other programs that I use for web desinging. I won't be wanting to play games or anything on it.
PC = Infested with viruses. Mac = No viruses. PC = Loves to crash. Mac = Rarely ever crashes. PC = Evil Bill Gates. Mac = Kool Steve Job. PC = Every thing still in beta when released. Mac = Computer actually bug free when released. PC = Crap. Mac = Quality. You get what you pay for. A cheapo PC, or a hi quality Mac. OK, let da flame wars begin~!!! *ducks*
Ok, thanks for all your answers, keep them coming. I think I prefer PC's too, I have a shared one, I was just seeing what other thought. *edit* Didn't see yours Nintendo, thanks for contribution, will think about it more
The first point reminded me of this: http://cad-comic.com/comics/20060513.jpg But anyway, a good anti-virus software will sort that out :/ Have to say that I think my PC has crashed once in the past 2 years that i've owned it (and I have vista...and people say that crashes more often). It just depends on how well you keep your PC on how often it'll crash. Bill ain't in charge anymore Can't say that things arn't usually released in beta with PC's (cause they are), but there are a lot of companies that almos always release (and usually stay in for a long time) in beta...google for example (e.g. google mail is still in beta, how long has that been? 3 years? 4?). Constant testing isn't always a bad thing.
Lol, I like the comic animation twistedspikes Thanks for your contribution, really good, made me think a bit. I really do think i am a PC guy, even if the macs are better in some ways, they are not better in what I need and wasting money on something that can be better in something I do not need may be quite stupid... lol.. still taking any answers you have and will read all replies! Thanks!
PC. Mac's are overpriced. Most people hate Microsoft because someone else does, so they think they;ve got to. Sort of like at primary school where everyone likes the same thing because someone else does
I've had a toshiba laptop for 5 years. I had no major problems but I think my next one will be either another toshiba or a Mac.
