It all depends on your site- type of site (forum, arcade ,content) as well as topic.

The earnings per click seems OK, but the click through rate is a bit on the low side- around 1%.

Depending on type/topic of site, a good CTR can be up to 30%.

.20-cents per click for a celebrity blog is pretty good, but don't expect it to last once your blog ages a bit, and you ge more clicks. Usually what happens is that Google "smart prices" you, and your CPC (cost per click) plummets to around .5-cents/click. Usually.

Right now I wouldn't worry about how much you're making per click and concentrate on getting more traffic. You can't make a living off 500 impressions.

I agree very much, you might be better off building more traffic and trying to get into a CPM program if you find PPC to be a challange, but either way -- More Traffic is definatly needed!

(I think they ment that their CTR was .20 below 1% (.80%)?)

But I may be wrong :).

They probably got one massive paying ad (the majority of their earnings so far) and three cheapies, but you're right..it averages out to about .20 cents per click

I have an entertainment site and sometimes I averaged around $.48 CPM. Some days it was higher and some days lower. Google is so inconsistent that it's difficult to be excited about Adsense.

Yes, if you have only one site making 48 pennies a day, hard to get excited.

But if you can build several good sites, and each are making 48 pennies a day, that will excite you.

Heck build an empire of sites!
Buy those MFA's for a few bucks, put them up all over the place, and go for it!

    LOL

I said $.48 cpm, not 48 cents a day. I am on pace to make my 1st $xxx.xx check this month and this will be my second check since I started in mid-April. So LOL at that.
