    hey all,

i had a verified paypal account which got limited due to some "suspicious activities"... :p

upon the inquiry, godaddy refunded me the money and stopped service on my domains... but with that Godaddy also stopped service for all the domains in that Godaddy account, which were purchased using some other paypal ids (which are not limited)

I have lost many of my blogs because of this...
anyone knows how to solve this...

except that I can not provide documents to Paypal to upload to, as all the utility bills are on my father's name and not mine..

if anyone knows what can be done, or how can i get my other domains (that were not registered with that paypal address), then please help me out....

    thanks

    Wow, that is very unfortunate.

PayPal has been difficult when it comes to seller protection for virtual goods. From a registrar's side, it can be difficult to properly review/process possible fraudulent PayPal transactions. The way that PayPal's resolution center is set up makes it necessary to act swiftly, and be somewhat punitive about possible PayPal fraud. I was put in charge of monitoring PayPal fraud at my company. It took a significant amount of time, over about 2 1/2 - 3 months to figure out just what was going on; and how to best fix it.

A PayPal transaction can be disputed by the buyer or PayPal within 45 days, then is resolved after 15 days. This is to the best of my knowledge. Please correct me if I'm wrong. This is especially inconvenient for a registrar, since we have only five days to recieve a refund for a fraudulently registered domain.

If PayPal has a question about a transaction, they send an email out to both the buyer and the seller. If the buyer does not respond to the email, then PayPal assumes the transaction is fraud. The transaction is reversed, and an email is sent to the seller. The seller has no control over PayPal's decision. The seller can tell PayPal that the customer has a good standing history, and PayPal will still reverse the transaction if the buyer does not respond.

Reviewing PayPal orders can be a slippery slope. It's not typically as cut-and-dried as credit card orders. I don't know what to tell you about how to resolve this situation. In the future it's important that your registrar has an easy way to contact you (valid email or telephone), and doubly important to respond to inquiries from PayPal as soon as they arrive.

I'm sorry to hear about your inconvenience. I wish you luck with the resolution.

    Rick

I stopped doing business with godaddy when I sent a paypal payment for premium hosting but they deducted the the paypal fees from what I had sent and would only provide basic hosting even though I followed everything they directed me to do when I signed up for premium...pretty lame but what happened to you sounds even worse! not to mention there user panels are filled with spam to buy there services when you are just trying to setup your basic service.

What are autoblogs? Sounds like spam machine. With such trends internet will become an endless and useless sea of spam and is not far from that right now.

Sorry to hear about your gd adventure, and i dont think they are right, but I have the feeling you did not told us the whole story.

no dude thats it... i just cant upload my scanned copies to get my account off the limited status...

paypal set an inquiry, and hence, I guess Godaddy refunded the domains...

But, the problem here is, Godaddy not only refunded the domains which were bought with that paypal id (which honestly i feel is ok), but also all other domains in that account.... :((

If a customer is found to have one fraudulent purchase, it really is on them to prove all of the other purchases aren't fraud as well. The fact that you were using multiple PayPal IDs makes you look bad to the seller as well.

My advice would be to talk to GoDaddy about your names, and resolve the PayPal issue separately. If your names are truly worth as much as you say they are, you will probably want to pay for them right away. If I were you, I would give GoDaddy a call and try to pay for your names using *your* credit card. It would be in your best interest to be as honest and cooperative as possible when you talk to them. They may ask you for proof of your identity, and it might end up being kind of a difficult process. It will be worth it to you in the long run since your names are worth that much to you.

If this had happened at Name.com, our Fraud department would have attempted to contact you before yanking the names. If we were unable to contact you, or didn't respond to us within a said amount of time, then we would have treated it as outright payment fraud.

Remember that PayPal told GoDaddy that they wouldn't accept your transaction because they thought you were suspicious. It is logical to assume that if one transaction is fraud, then all of them are. Unfortunately it is up to you to prove to GoDaddy that you are not committing payment fraud. If you don't like your registrar's policies, you can always transfer your names after they are back in your possession.

I'm sorry about your inconvenience. I would hate to have to go through something like this.

I would deal with the issues seperately.

Do you not have a gov-issued ID card (drivers license, passport?) that you could show PayPal?

send godaddy a mail everyday, and if you can login to your control panel, change your id's.
