    once you put the adsense code on your website Google will chk it, verify it and then will approve your account

    It depends on the number of pending applications, holiday season etc. Usually, it takes 4-5weeks.

    When I signed up for an account in adsense, I think it only took a week for its approval.

    how one can put the adsense code to the site without approval from google? first you need to apply for it with your site link and than if google find your site appropriate then only it will approve your site... before that you can not put the code to your site.
