Vista is just another Operating System from Microsoft, I could really careless but the fact is Vista is installed on all new desktops and laptops so you *will* run into it. But personally I like the interface and the reduced startup time.. but then again there are drawbacks which occasionally there are unexplained crashes and slow downs. Its not a masterpiece but it will do and it looks pretty. If you wanted a real OS i would get a Mac but i dont have time to learn it so i will stick with Microsoft... Thats my 2 cents
I think vispa is very slow if running on normal PC. The requirement is high. Vista must be running with At least 1GB RAM. It have to much of security. You will facing while you are browsing internet or installing a software on Vista. It will me a bit slow on work.
Thats not true, MS are going to keep on updating XP until atleast 2014, Thats official, the only thing thats wrong with XP now is that stores aren't allowed to stock it anymore really, by end of Jan09, stores shouldn't be stocking it, Only the OEM version will be avaliable and thats with bought hardware. Oh and I'm an XP man. The only reason I'd ever consider getting vista is for the 64bit version which allows you to use more than 4GB RAM unlike the 32bit Version which has a 3.5GB RAM cap. BUT I recently found out that the same can be done for XP 64bit, so I'd rather use that.
You folks that think vista is slow, need to upgrade your PC. Its only slower because it uses more resources. You Need RAM. Vista is an excellent addition to the windows family, as long as your computer wasn't built in the stone age.
I am very please with the interface of this operation window vista. But I prefer the XP operation because of it usefull and easy to use with.
Yo, let's move back so Win 95 then. XP sucks. Bugs bugs bugs. At least Microsoft now pays all attention to it's LATEST product - Vista. Makes updates, fixes and stuff. Vista is good!
And that's part of Vista's problem. If you want to run Windows, you need to spend more money. Don't want to spend more money? Forget it. Now, what are you spending this extra money for? Do you surf the web faster? No. Do you run your word processor better? No. Leaving high end games out of the equation, what do you do any better on Vista that you couldn't do equally well on XP?
If you have 30+ tabs in firefox, Photoshop open with several large files open, Dreamweaver running, along with several Microsoft Office apps then it is much faster than XP... Vista keeps all those in the RAM instead of writing it to the hard drive which means I can do my work faster. Plus, it is more secure for the computer-illiterate users
I probably know how to use OS X better than any full-time user but I like Vista more...a lot of tiny and useful things are just left out on OSX...for example, try hitting the 'maximize' button...you'd expect it to take up the whole screen but it doesn't, also, when filling out forms and you hit tab, what happens when you arrive at a drop down menu? It just skips it, while with Windows you can choose an option. There are many more annoyances that I have run into other than these... (BTW, I own a MacBook Pro)
Actually, the answer is definitely YES! I recently purchased a new pc, with 2 gigs of RAM (not a lot, but enough) and Vista. My PC is much faster with the added RAM, programs open faster, Browsers don't hang up on me. So the extra money is definitely worth it. Not to mention Vista, is graphically much more attractive. Forget it? You better Remember it! If you dont keep your computer up to date, you will be sorry. Vista is not the only software that is requiring more RAM. As the technology of software becomes more complex, it requires more resources to run. So...if you want to keep up, i suggest you put forward that extra money.
