I'm looking to develop 2 sites and am looking for inspiration. Do you know if there have been reviews or lists of some excellent sites in different criteria: Design and functionality. Sites that have great conversion rates (well placed ads) User friendly sites - Basically great looking sites, that are popular, easy to navigate and look awesome. I'd be grateful for any lists or names you can post. Thanks
there are billions of sites matching your description. its really depends on personal favorites. why dont you ask what is the proven way to make money? also there are billions of answers. (Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Warren Buffet are only 3)
Hello, With this you really need to be more specific. As the previous poster stated, there are alot of these types of site, it would be better if we knew what type of niche or category you are looking for.
I'm looking at the geographical names - e.g. La.com and vancouver.com. also names around investing and trading as i'm developing OilPrice.com Thanks
Well, i dont think orbitzdot com can be placed in 1000 best dsign site list. Actually it will differ from person to person. i like simplicity and white spaces. considering this and also the effectiveness you will say that google.com is best. And for a comlex design, facebook has too much functionality and its populat too. but again, it depends on the personal choice.
If you are looking for a nice converting web site, then you might want to try creating a "Mini Site". Mini Sites are usually short, but not always, and they convert like crazy because they look sharp. I actually have found that my Mini Sites convert at a much hicher rate than your standard web site, or flash sites. Just search google for Mini Sites, and you will see what I am talking about.
Bro, look at here saizenmedia.com. I don't know either this will be helpful to you or not as this is flash site. But this site will be good inspiration for any web designer. Just check it out...
http://www.ndesign-studio.com/ Now that guy can make a website! Nick La is someone I really admire for his web design skills. Also, for graphic insperation I love Nick Ainley too: http://www.shinybinary.com/
I am surprised no one has mentioned www.webdesignerwall.com yet. It is designed by this Nick La guy mentioned by twistedspikes above. There is plenty of inspiration at www.smashingmagazine.com . It is my goto when i have a creative bloc. Hope i helped.
I've recently written a post on this that might interest you. It should have more than enough links to get you started.
Here are two of my favorite layouts I've seen around the internet: http://www.weerez.com/news/ http://www.webdesignerwall.com/ I think the whole 2.0 thing has ruined the whole aspect of design. People are now wanting slick, clean, simple designs that every site has now. I think the cluttered desk look is a bit overdone now, but it's different than stripes and squares.
Ndesign studio is his "portfolio" website (more of a personal blog), hence why I chose that to display his talents. But yes, look at any website he has created and you'll see his talent.
There are quite a few sites that have VERY good designs. Theres a very cool website with the top 50 designs but i cant find the bookmark. Google the following keywords "top web designs"
