Everyone should try, and be competent in both White and Black hat techniques.. It makes a well rounded webmaster, pushing the envelope beyond breaking point is a great learning experience.
Don't be mad because you are jealous. That won't motivate me to share anything with you. You are also inaccurate in about ranking well for certain keywords for new sites by using ON PAGE factors. You know nothing about local competitive keywords and your ignorance will keep you where you are at until you are willing to listen and learn from others that know what they are talking about. Let's see you get in the top 10 search results for a local competitive keyword in less than 2 weeks for a new site. It's always not about placing high for major keywords. It's about knowing the needs of your clients, delivering the results they expect, and getting their ROI back as quickly as possible in an ethical way. I could show you examples all day long, but instead of you wish you say that I am "childish" so my conversations with you are finished at this point. Have a nice day and good luck arguing your way to the top.
Just relax Lavinco, we're just trying to have another positive discussion here. Some great points have been raised and i'm loving this discussion so let's move on with it. The question is: Does whitehat SEO still exists?
Here's a white-hat example of a post I wrote 12 hours ago http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&rlz=1B2GGFB_enUS264&q=CJ+Settlement&btnG=Search see blog.areawebsolutions.com I'm in the top 10 and number 1 for more specific keywords like http://www.google.com/search?num=10...J+Settlement+Class+Action+Lawsuit&btnG=Search As I write this at 10:03 am EST, CJ is in court for their hearing about the fraud that took place. I anticipate that after today, a lot of people will be searching for information related to the cj settlement. I had to place high to capture some of the traffic.
People here might make the argument that dropping your link with "desired anchor text" from DP is gray hat. Pure white hat wouldn't allow that.
it surely does. Some of my friends make $500-600 everyday with organic traffic generated through white hat techniques
I personally don't go for the gray, black or white hat descriptions at all. To me, that isn't anything dubious. But I have seen it argued that any thing you do to manipulate the search engines would be considered "gray hat." To me the distinctions should be "guideline compliant" or "non-guideline compliant." Linking to yourself doesn't appear to be against any guidelines, even though it's self promotional in nature. The main reason to stay guideline compliant for many webmasters (myself included) is because it takes a lot of time to build revenue streams online and without Google inclusion, there's no cash.
Lavinco, I don't need to argue with you nor do I need your techniques, I make my living online by myself. I'm always glad to hear something new though. You didn't show any proof that you can rank brand new websites for competitive keywords with purely white hat techniques and you still claim it can be done. As you're not willing to provide any proof to back up your claims, the discussion can as well be over. Such show off topics without sharing information are surely not what I want to spend my time with.
whatever that does not break the search engine rules=white hat trying to trick the SE's=black hat which has short term effects so if someone doesn't have much tolose and care about being penalized they can risk to go black hat if they wanna.
well, for a newbie, google is a tough nut to crack...you need patience....if you can write smart content that is sure to spread, it may work......but they index changes quite fast...
White-hat all the way. I'm going in for the long haul no matter how pathetic my sites are performing now. Better to be safe than sorry.
The key to success is building a website that provides useful content or services. These are the websites that will ultimately thrive in the long run. SEO, whatever shade, should only be considered minor tweaks.
Angel and devil will continue to exist as long as Heaven and Earth keep existing... likewise, White Hat and Black SEO will still continue to exist as long as SEO and Internet exist.
