I have a blog that was previously penalised by Google last year. In November I applied for a reinclusion request and asked Google to restore my blog's PR. They did that three weeks later. Last week during the latest PR update, the blog also survived its PR3 (no change). Today I checked my PR and I was shocked to discover that it has gone down to PR0. Has it been penalised again? I have done nothing wrong to warrant Google's wrath on me, so I have no idea why this has happened.
content is very important for PR. One of my domain dropped from PR3 to PR2 because of duplicated content. I noticed I didn't loose any back link.
What you really need to do, is see if any of your inbound links are from the same source, maybe google has done a smackdown of some type of incoming links (like they did with site directories) and you got hit with it.
If you have been regularly updating your blog and the traffic to you is as usual, then definitely, the concern must be with the quality of the content... Regards, RightMan
Hmm...I don't think it has anything to do with content actually. The blog is a personal blog and I update it nearly every day with posts in my own words. Plus, its not even in English. Could there be another reason for this?
You might need to check your PR once again, and if it's really dropped to 0 then it's simply a Google Penalty dude. Otherwise, check your website backlinks instep to make sure you have'nt lost any important one
you are panelized, due to things that google dont like.. for example, duplicate content, irrelevent link, and non reguler updates for content or site.
Sometimes a website's pr can fluctuate from one pr update to another if your site is still indexed in google and your rankings are still the same then your site may not have been penalized.
It seems as if Google updates the PR of blog a lot more often than other sites as of recent.. Hang in there, make sure your writing original and useful content, and make sure you are building backlinks... Do these things and you should be fine.
The toolbar PR across several data centers may vary during an update. Give some time for things to settle down. After a week or two if your site is stil showing PR0, compare your stats. Is there a drop in traffic. If not, you shouldn't be worried too much about the PR unless you are selling text links. By the way if you are selling text links from your blog that alone might result in drop in your page rank. -Neo
It's easy to forget about PR, but here on DP, when you can "sell" just one text link on your PR5+ site for at LEAST $50/month - lets face it... PR made us $$$$
PR update wll last for weeks and u lost your PR only on the latest update itself. No needs to worry add some genuine contents and Build some good links .YOu will back again.BTW my blog also dropped from PR 4 to 2
What's the reason why you've been penalized last year? I guess it is into your content! Most of the times, duplicate content could be the main reason with this scenario. Dropped in PR with a penalized site/blog is just normal. Just create new contents that are unique and continue link building.
