Get the top 10 simply by having the right domain name

I just registered the domain PHPScriptInstallation.com and I automatically have the top 10 for the key phrase "php script installation". If I purchased a different domain name it would be harder for me to get that. This shows you that your domain name alone is one of the most powerful SEO tools.

Keyword rich domain names are very important to seo of course.. but many other factors may have combined to put you in the top 10..

Anyway, nice post.. If you can replicate this again, then you'll have a system that you could sell

3 word KP in non competitive niches are not that difficult to rank. Also to be honest, php script installation is not a very competitive key phrase at all.

It is true that a keyword rich domain can do wonders for you but you need to concentrate on other things as well as your domain will not remain in the top position for a long time just on the basis of its keywords.

Do you own the domain seoserviceslondon.com? If you don't then I don't think you can really say that.

I'd have to disagree with you on that one. At least a little bit. I believe your domain name is one of the strongest SEO tools there are out there.

i agree a little bit with you BUT...

The 2 most important things are good original content and good related LINKS.

Yes you can get to the first page, of even top with a rich domain name, but you wont last if some one is building a good link base ;-)

    just my 2 cents worth

Newly indexed doamins gains high rank just for about 1 or 2 weeks

There's many reasons why your website will drop dramatically in the SERPS. It could be because of your CTR or because you failed to build any backlinks. Maybe you built your backlinks too quickly. Maybe you're using blackhat SEO techniques that Google doesn't like. The list goes on but Google won't sandbox your site or bring down your rankings for no reason.

And BTW, you mentioned 1 or 2 weeks your website will disappear. That could be because Google isn't finished indexing your website. It's almost like changing the DNS for your domain name. It goes on and off before it's done.

I am believing more and more the domain is weighed heavily. My company owns a few websites as well as have built a few websites and SEO'd them for clients. Anymore it seems keyword rich domains make it A LOT easier to rank.

When you're in the top 10, your website could easily get #1 if people start clicking on your link. That's why if you get #1 you will often stay #1 simply by CTR.

The top performers on the internet don't have keyword domains - facebook, ebay, amazon, wikipedia.
It's importance is exaggerated. It's a quick fix, for longevity, branding and memorability are more important.

Yes but 99.999% of sites owned by people here (myself included) are seo plays, they are never intended to be, and have no realistic chance of becoming, leading brands. I'd take a good exact match domain over a nice brandable one anyway.

And by exact match I mean either a .com, net org or .co.uk, with no hyphens.

it's always a key to have keywords in the domain. this sure help much. but the more important one is link building strategy. the domain without keyword in domain can get top rank easy if thry got more quality backlinks and good content.

That's almost laughable. The reason why those websites don't have to do a thing is because they're "authority websites" with millions of backlinks that are built "naturally". Whatever the backlinks commonly say is what those website rank highly for. I don't think you can compare the average joe's website to one of those.
