Hello all DP members, My site www.icbse.com has Google PR 4 ! I want to ask that is that PR is fine and on which factors Google PR depends upon? What about the other Search Engines PR ? means all search engines have their PR given to sites? How can i improve my Google PR ? What is the importance of PR ? I only know that PR is Page Rank . Please answer my questions......Your Reply will be highly appreciated !

some people have said this is the end of page rank. pagerank has at least 2 usages: 1/ on average, higher pr rank better than lower pr(I said on average) 2/ to value a site (say you want to sell), higher pr site have more value 3/ anyway pr is in the algorithm, right! oh, that was 3, sorry; anyway if you lurk around, this is the most discussed topic, I guess. Just do some search.
For increasing the PR of your site you must get high backlinks from high PR websites and blogs. Well, lets take the example of DP - if you are really serious about getting good PR for your site - then i suggest you that you post daily at DP (but don't spam) - post useful information - (just think while posting whether it could be of any help to anyone) - and this way you can increase the posts - and don't forget to place your blog / website link in the signature space so that ur link will be displayed on every page where you have posted - this is really a good way of getting decent PR.
pagerank is a term specific to google which describes the way google ranks pages. Getting backlinks from relevant sources with high pagerank (with the dofollow tag) will mean that some of the linking sites pagerank will get distributed to you. If they have the 'nofollow' tag in places then that will block the pagerank from their site going to yours. Just Some advice.

I agree with 'Shellerz' in the first two points Unique Content and more important Quality Backlinks.. However, don't really get it why on-page might help increasing URL's !!? Have seen so many websites / pages with no usage of meta tags except for the title and it was even their company names or so.. however got and kept a very high PR of 7 dude.
Well, I only agree that high pr backlink is important to get high pr for your website. unique content and on page optimization is important for seo... and bring you traffic. not pr. I said this because my website (about 3 month ago) got pr2 with only wordpress "hello world" post..... I mean, I just install wordpress there. How it get pr2? because I just link that website from my other website. also, traffic is more important if you want to make the real money. pr is only important is you want to sell links or sell the domain.
make your blog on blogger.com with custom domain, it will increase your pagerank easily.. but link exchange also important to increase your pagerank, especially with related blog. btw www100x.blogspot.com got pagerank 3.
